I think the problem here is that people believe they actually deserve equal rights. Unfortunately, much like how racism works with colored people, you just have to learn to live with it for eternity...

haven't read the entire thread but really...
I agree Gay pride is out of control.
too much sexual drama going around. it is fun if you can look a blind eye and see past the outrages characteristics and sexually explicit scenes.
I for one am still shocked by some of the nature. But then again I have fabulous gay friends, that show no obligerant sides.
I cant generalize the gay community, because I know they are not all like that.

I know im kidding. I actually dont hat gays. i just hate the parade.
In all honest truth, without deliberately trying to piss off people, my real beef with the parade is that it is wayyy too in your face. I understand the point of it, butin this day and age especially in toronto, there is no need. You have all the rights and freedoms you could possibly ask for over here and hardly anyone judges. You should move out and get in your face to other cities that are not accepting!
believe it or not, I do have a gay friend. And he does come to the cottage with us every summer.
SUre he sleeps in a tent outside, with the black woman we bring up to do our dishes. But hes a huge asset to have, to keep crazy white trash hicks away from our garbage bins looking for pop cans.
i have a black cousin that is gay...we make him sleep in a tent outside too!

| Originally posted by Tordan well said, bobby. it's unfortunate, but the entire group gets a bad name due to the actions of a few. how do they expect to be taken seriously by anyone, gay or straight, if they parade around in the nude? it was my first time checking out the parade and i heard a lady scream, "it doesn't matter if you're gay or straight, be proud of who you are. happy pride!" i think she echoes the sentiments of what pride week is all about but then these idiots come along with their winnies-a-wagging. |

when did being gay mean you have to walk around with your dicks out. If I walked naked down the street during the christmas parade I would be arrested....even though I am just getting into the christmas spirit.
its these individuals that have ruined what many gays have fought hard for.
Just because a few people get too messy at clubs and OD, should all clubs be shut down? Because a few people get too drunk at bars and vomit on the street corner outside, should all bars be closed? No. Just because a small % of the million + people that come to pride, choose to whip out their cocks, does that mean pride should get shut down?
Just because there are a few haters, or people who take things a little too far, does not mean that the entire festival needs to get shut down.
we're just saying u proved your point. we understand your comfortable with what you know, and dont want to try new things.....GOT IT!
now that toronto is understanding and gives you sooo much freedom, maybe its time you guys moved to the next city and protest, whip ur cocks out etc...
try texas
Vivid Boy, do you realize your avatar has the word "TA" in it, which is the exact opposite of your posting aggression. Why don't you do a lil research before jumping to put "cool" names in your avatar.
You're out of synch and out of touch with your body spirit & inner child.
see ya hater...
*shrug*
When I'm standing in the middle of town town Toronto, with over a million people coming out - black, white, gay, straight, bi, trans, male, female, old, young, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa and the family dog, most of them just "getting down and having a good time together" regardless of their backgrounds / color / gender and sexuality - That's pretty damn cool, and that type of unity in a celebration is something worth preserving, even if we have 'proved our point'.
It's no longer just pride over sexuality, but its pride in being yourself, its pride in being part of a city / country that has come so far in acceptance and diversity.
When there are other countries where you can get the death sentence for having gay sex, or where other pride celebrations are being protested with people throwing bombs / rocks / etc at the festivities - being in Canada, and in a City like Toronto, it's something worth being proud about and celebrating.
If you don't like it - don't participate in it. It's not all that hard to avoid if you don't want to see it.
