Merely because i chose not to, besides i think telling you there was zero point in your posts is a valid contribution to this thread. Unless you feel that calling everyone who's views differ from yours "Wankers" and that telling everyone who didn't enjoy Deadmau5's EM to "Shut the fuck up" are meant to be considered meaniningful in some way.

The whole thread is entertaining.
I bet that 99% of the people who are bashing on your head would also play their own tracks in an EM if they had as much success as you have right now. I know I would. It's pure publicity for your own work.
It's not because I'm a fan that I'm defending your mix. I'm defending it because I love your way of working to promote yourself.

Sorry pete, no can do, im a producer, and i don't really want the honor... besides, too many people listen to this show, and i don't want to introduce a wider audience to my music. what a stupid idea pete.
man, im falling out of my chair here on how stupid some people can actually be.
please lock this fucking retarded thread.
lmfao.

you could put a bit of effort in to creating a decent dj mix and still manage to get a few of your own new tunes in for the promotional side of it if you wanted. I can't imagine creating a mix most likely on abelton with all your own tracks was very taxing for you.
Maybe its a sadder reflection on where the show itself is going rather than you tho eh?

Something of a side note, but unless this was a joke:

For all remix / production inquiries contact [email protected]
For all booking inquiries, contact Joel Zimmerman (yes, we have the same name... and no we are not related)
|
...man, what are the odds of that?

And why he should do this? He made the set in order to please his fans (and they aren't a small number). You don't like the music, so you don't tune in. Listen to your stuff and wait for other guest for an EM which you will like. Easy as that.

EM is fucked these days - only the big jocks put it in the effort to do something worthwhile for it

Since when is a DJ set ABOUT promoting your own tracks?
Slide em in there on occasion, open with one of them, close with one of them, accentuate a peak time moment with them, whatever; I'm all for it, but don't BUILD a whole set around them.
If you want to think about a DJ set in regards to self promotion and pleasing people who more or less got to know and enjoy you due to your own tracks, then it doesn't get any better than Deadmau5's EM. Otherwise...

I don't think it's a matter of not liking the music.
I don't recall many people criticizing this set because the quality of the music is poor.
People are criticizing this set because...well, I think it's pretty obvious why people are criticizing this set, and I think if I use the phrase 'all his own tracks' one more time, it's going to make me sick (and yes, I'm completely aware that I just used it again there)

Deadmau5's EM can't possibly be more horrible than Oakenfold trainwrecking multiple times on his EM.

True to form, Peter Hook's EM would be mixed by someone else.
Posted by elFreak on Jul-22-2008 12:59:
but seriously though, release a set of other people's music and i can see you getting less flack if it is not shit.
It takes an hour of your life.

true story... t least for those in the know, Joel Zimmerman used to work for Chaotica... then went off and did his own thing.. Division One... now he's ditched that to go work for William Morris Agency... but yup. completely unrelated.
the odds:
6,711,701,612 / (1) first name */ (1) last name
