slowmo of 3

Brilliant. 1 and 2 are the best examples of why Anderson is so great. He doesn't just back away and block. He flies around (keeping his body centered so he can't be taken down, unlike when you back away and block) and then is in perfect position to do exactly what he did -- throw a deadly punch.
Anderson Silva has given me reason to start following MMA. I normally don't follow UFC, but I was at some bar that was showing it and got to see bits and pieces of it. Was extremely impressed with his toying and eventual knockdown of Forrest Griffin.

watch some fedor fights, that man is great. Too bad his management sucks ass and cannot get him into the UFC.
Agreed. Fedor is just as exciting to watch as Silva. Far less style involved, but he's just as mixed in his skill. He's amazing.
Amazing.
I love how he went ahead and leaned back after his duck because he knew there would be a left hook after that right. This guy is just too smart.

| Silva refuses to face one of the most intriguing potential opponents, light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, because they are friends and training partners. Silva on Sunday shook his head and wagged his finger at the idea of facing Machida. "Lyoto's my friend, he's my brother and there's no way that fight will happen," Silva said via translation. "Also, not just because he's my friend, it'll be a big problem for me." Although Machida and Silva have different backgrounds as fighters, they have the same tactical mindset avoid damage first, then take advantage of small openings to try quick knockouts or takedowns. If Silva beats other elite 205-pound fighters, a fight with Machida will happen despite their relationship, White said. "It has nothing to do with friendship," White said. "It has to do with who's the best. ... I promise you I'll make that fight." |
Doubt that would happen because neither will sign the contract, and it would probably be boring as shit until Silva tries to get all stylish and Lyoto catches him.
More excited about Silva vs. Tito or (if he gains 20 pounds) Silva vs. GSP
tito? really?
Who else would he fight at light heavy?
edit: Wanderlei Silva, who apparently is pissed at him for helping Rich out earlier this year. That'd be a pretty one sided matchup in Anderson's favor though. lol
Silva is done...Franklin picked him apart to pieces last fight. Time for him to hang it up. Machida has talked up going up and facing Brock. You never know what will happen these days....it's like a soap opera.
More news.... courtesy of bloody elbow

| Anderson Slva to give up belt, move to 205? "With his arm wrapped around Whites shoulder, Soares leaned in and delivered a proposition. "Spider" Silva would move permanently to light heavyweight, even if it meant the unorthodox move of giving up his middleweight belt." "I can do that," White smiled, a bit stunned at the offer. "I like that. We can do that." "Soares smiled and shook Whites hand." "Id let him," White said later, sitting in his quiet dressing room. "Wed put [the middleweight title] up for grabs." |

Yeah man. I'm sure some people lost money on bets tonight. Torres hadn't lost since 2003.

Definately alot of suprises this weekend with mma.
Here is a link of the Torres fight.. I have always been a Torres fan but something told me that Brian B was taking that belt home. He was confident, and was in incredible shape.
