b-b-but mine.

It was worth it!

So I guess this means I can't post the photoshopped version where bats are flying out of the cooter?

Posted by Scottaculous on Oct-13-2009 03:27:

You can post it but post a url link instead of the image. While everyone should know reading TA at work can be dangerous, it is still courtesy to throw up a nsfw.

So, the riot police was called in because someone threw a bottle? LOl That has to be a joke. Not to sound insensitive to the person who was hurt, but I've been to plenty of shows where people were hurt and no one called in the riot police.

Another thing that really bothers me, the press release talks like the crowd was too big too handle. I'm sure there are ways to handle this. You ever heard of having many different ticket takers letting people in? I've been to many huge events with thousands of people. Yeah, there can be a line, but not a 3 hour line. If you have enough staff, the line moves quickly.

Posted by PatMcGroin on Oct-13-2009 04:52:

that cut line ticket is ludicrous.

Posted by fboss on Oct-13-2009 05:26:

Basic math, they say doors opened at 10:30 and by 12:30 4000 people inside, hmmm. 4000/120 min = 33.3 people let in per min, so 2 sec per person to get them in, pat them down and scan everything. No, that did not happen, not even close. At 3 sec per person, only 2,400 people could get in. Please explain....

Couple of questions unanswered Liquified/Devin

1. Are we getting reimbursed for the parking fee?

2. How come no one came and told us (the hundreds of people waiting in line) the problems with the trusses & frames and that tiesto wll be on later at 1:30?

3. I think 4 tickets at the tiesto show in Nashville 10/27/09 for me and my friends is a fair trade for driving 8 hrs (Atlanta & back)and $80 worth of gas money for wasting my time Sat. Night not to mention $100 spent on tickets and parking? Don't you think thats fair Liquified/Devin??

By the way, the last couple of times driving to Atlanta getting to see 1.Sasha on Halloween/2007 (Wetbar), 2. Eric Prydz (Wetbar) 3. Above & Beyond (Opera), was a lot of fun but after what happened Saturday, I may not ever want to come back to any shows in the future with Liquified on it or any Opera shows.

Wow. That is a very inadequate press release. Really?

I've read dozens of accounts that only 2 people were handling the real ticketing line. Most of the rest of the staff was handling the cut-line or handling parking. So that makes your claim of 4,000 in 2 hours really peculiar.

-- Parking went from $10 to $20, why?
-- There was a cut-line ticket made for $20, why? I could understand having a special VIP ticket line or whatever, but don't let people cut just because they brought an extra $20 to the show.
-- The production company came at 6 AM and it took them 16 hours to do a show you've been setting up for the last 9 years? I realize you guys went all out this time and brought in new stuff, so it was different. But shouldn't you of anticipated this?
-- And are you really going to claim you could get 4,000 people in 2 hours? If that was the case, it would of taken you guys 20 minutes to get the rest of the crowd in. It obviously didn't, considering by 1:30, police were there making everyone leave.

Sounds to me like you guys didn't plan ahead far enough. When you saw the line backing up and piling up, you should've taken some initiative. A 2nd and 3rd line should've been opened up. And I don't believe the "it just can't be done with the layout of the building" response. If there was honestly absolutely no way to create an alternate route to the dance floor through the building, then you should of at least done something to notify the crowd that there were complications with the pre-production process, this could of gone a long way to keep crowd calm. At least calm enough for you to supposedly process the last remaining 750 ppl in your supposed 20 minute time frame.

Glad you at least said something though. But you really didn't answer a lot of the big problems that occurred. The police never would of showed up if that person never throws that bottle, sure. But that person never throws that bottle if you guys did your job better.

Not sure why everyone is thinking there was only 2 people scanning tickets inside but that is entirely false. There was a crew of people with remote scanners outside working the line checking people in even before the doors opened. Also inside the front doors there was 6 stalls set up to check additional people in plus there was another door working the other way out the building. At 11:00 another door on the back end the building was opened with 2 entrances to work even more people in. Just before 11pm we broke the stalls down inside and if people had there print out we were just collecting those and sending them in plus the people outside were already checked in and had been given a ticket to have collected when they entered. Keep in mind 4000 is an estimate given the clickers on all the doors

Really? I got in line at exactly 11pm there was no sign of a line on the back side or sides of the building. Where exactly on the building was this imaginary "line"?

Secondly, once I got up on the front side of the building yes another side door (near the bathrooms) opened up (WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN OPEN THE WHOLE TIME!) and started collecting our printed out reciepts. However, this was NOT at 11pm but more like 20 minutes till 1am.

Really Devin,
I don't even know you (although I've heard a lot about you) and I know your job must be pretty stressful for events like this but I would have liked to see some communication going on. Someone in the parking lot informing people that if they had a printed ticket to go to the left side of the building and those who had willcall tickets to go to the right side. Instead everyone was just figuring it out for themselves but which caused trouble. Additionally, I agree with the other person who poseted that you should have been COMMUNICATING to people in line the problems that were going on so the crowd would stay as calm as possible. Lastly, this was NOT the first time the line for Tiesto at NATC was long and unreasonable. It was less severe two years ago but it kind of seems like you and your crew of people learned nothing.

Okay this is really the last part. From my experience Liquified consistently makes promises on extended sets, outrageous decor, 7 fully-stocked bars or what have you. THEN the set is just a regular set, the decor is a joke, and the bars are only selling wine, bear, and a few select cocktails. Don't make promises you know you can't keep. It looks like the next time Tiesto makes it out to ATL and Liuified hosts event at NATC I will not be returning. I would rather drive out of state than deal with that drama.

At least you guys can say this year it wasn't hyped as a 5 hour set with guests like is was 2 years ago. Lol

I'm still bewildered, How did this bottle thrower cause such a fuss? Couldn't security have just apprehended him and let everyone else go in?

As said, it seems like you had plenty of time to plan for this and still this happened. There may have been more than 2 people scanning, but obviously, it wasn't enough. This event brought in a lot of money. Seems like you could afford the extra staff.

Explain that Devin I have supported you guys for putting on some of the in Atlanta but this past shit just washed them all out. I would rather fly out and drive out to FL or NY to go see a bad ass show which would be 10 times better then whats here.

Once again explanation please...

Posted by oldfizzart123 on Oct-13-2009 15:49:

Ohhhh yeah and they weren't even scanning they were just taking the papers or just letting people through it seemed like the staff was frustrated by the fiasco the event caused. Total BS...

I agree

The bottle shattered and hit a woman in the face Zach.

She got like 10 stitches because of it.

I think that incident is a big reason Liquified decided to lawyer up. I'm not going to say they're liable, but then again, there's dozens of accounts floating around of the poor management done that night. The poor management was obviously the cause for the bottle thrower. And if the woman can't sue the bottle thrower...yea.
