Ignore that. The reason it says that is because the kernel hasn't been included in upstream yet, so the one that supports multiple devices doesn't include the HD2...yet. But here is a link to get roms for it.

streak's pissing me off now, been wanting it for so fucking long and they keep pushing back the international release... now they've just increased the price as well (of what it will be if it ever comes out that is)! AND they still havn't confirmed the upgrade from 1.6...

Getting tax money soon and i really want it, but ffs dell, this is ridiculous!!

Naiiice. My phone's on the way. It only cost $150 with a two-year renewal and I think I'm getting a $50 credit on top of that.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the method of porting over your plan/contacts on Verizon without having to go to a store to do so? I thought I remember hearing someone mention that there's a number you can call and deal with an automated system that will port everything over for you sans the Verizon store but I've only heard that from some arbitrary doucher and the clerk at the Verizon reseller said I'd have to head back up to a corporate branch once the phone's been shipped and have them do it.

IS THIS TRUTHISH?

*229 is the activation number, but that may or may not work. As for moving your contacts and shit over, well, that depends on the phone you currently have.

In that case, then download the Google Sync app and sync your contacts and calendar with your Gmail account. Then just check your gmail to ensure all your contacts are there, activate new phone, add your Google account to the phone, voila. /end

I'm guessing that's in the blackberry appworld. Woooot

afaik, Verizon doesn't migrate the contacts over, unless you bring the phones to the store, in which case they just take the phones in the back and do what Ben suggested.

As for keeping your plan...did you buy the new phone from Verizon, or a retail store?

Me too.. it really has improved my life by x100000000. I repeat what I've always said. Fuck iPhone.

The day after I got it. I already put the screen protector, a $30 case, and the insurance on it

Just got my first cell-phone, in the mail, today!

This is awesome, too. I don't even have to dial the number, myself. I can get someone to dial it for me.

I ordered it online. It gave me a projected bill amount that wasn't all that more than I'm already paying (although it said that I was paying much more than I actually am right now for some strange reason).

I'll probably wind up taking it to the store just to be safe. I just was wondering if there was an easy option that was guaranteed that didn't involve going to the store.

There will only be 1 possible hang up. The activation. Other than that, the method I suggested can be done now before you even get the phone. You can then verify it before hand, so you don't get caught up in all the shit.

Posted by shaw on Jul-30-2010 01:27:

Nope--no other easy way.

*229 just re-sends the activation info to your phone (1st time you use it, or any time after you update the ROM). It only sends EISN or whatever the hell their version of a hardware ID is.

The plan should be simple enough. If you get it from them, they've already switched your info over.

Wouldn't have it any other way.

I only recently started using the WiFi on the incredible. Really is handy. I've got mobile network and WiFi switches on the home screen, so I can switch back and forth almost instantly.

it was so funny as well cause i wanted one for a while, and was showing my girlfriend pics of the ipad screen breaking pretty much just by touching it (or standing on it ) and this was in the 'related' section... bloody insane hey! made out of 'gorilla glass'...

it IS unuseably huge, but i don't make many calls, mostly msgs, and use it heaps for the intrawebz, would be awesome to use this for pdfs and things as well, and yeah: Console emulators gallor on this

umm, looking at around 1000 if you were to buy it now

it was meant to come out in aus in august, but it was meant to come out in the US in july, and that date has now been pushed back to.... who knows...
but it's been sent to heaps of aus review sites, so it will definitely be coming out here at some stage... also will be sold for 550 USD outright from the dell site if it's EVER released , which would place it at about 6-800 aus, which is pretty good really (same as the nexus one/desire)

i just like it cause it's such a beast: phone, tablet pc, satnav, ebook reader, camera (the camera isn't the best, but the edit features unique to the streak are pretty cool if you look em up on youtube )

FUCK technology rant! been way too fixated on this...

now back to making storming psy
