i really can't believe the reactions that some people have posted in regards to this news,

everyone here goes out parties and spends money at bars, and on entrance or whatever it may be.

the point is piknic is a strong hold in the montreal dance scene it delivers and has delivered something no one else has been able to deliver for a while. old talent and fresh talent that has not or will not see montreal have come through piknic. and i thank them for that!!!!!

rules are rules regulations are regulations be appreciative of what we have and enjoy the Music cuz at the end of the DAY THATS WHAT ITS ABOUT!!!!!!

all these stupid facebook groups boycott piknic and all that crap are the stupidest thing ever and its sad to see.

At the end of the day they are the ones that are gonna miss out....

just gives us more room to dance !!!!

From the Facebook page in question... I am still trying to figure out what the hell this part means. Looks like it's been written by a 8 years old... must be one of those damn Piknic kids.

I think that's the point.. that we pay so much to go to afterhours, and clubs and parties on friday and saturday night, so it's great to be able to go to Piknic and only spend $20-30 including our entrance and beer. That's why I went whenever I could last year, cuz it was a true piknic. We'd bring food and everything..

BTW congrats on making it onto Bedrock 11, your remix is one of my favorite tracks btw!

There's quite a bit of hypocrisy in this decision.

They say that they weren't operating within the law before, you are not supposed to have a permit to sell alcohol if people are allowed to bring their own.

They say that the over-consumption of a few was to the detriment of the spirit and safety of the event.

Solution -don't sell alcohol. If people want to get fucked-up, they will do it whether it's on their own booze or booze bought on site. If alcohol is causing issues, ban it altogether.

They could have just been honest and said that if people were going to drink at their event, they wanted to profit from it.

It kind of reminds of the government saying don't smoke it's bad for you, but if you must do it we are going to tax you heavily for it to make the maximum profit from it.

Finally, in all the years I've been going to Piknik the people I've seen the most wasted were not drinking alcohol.

the facebook groups are seriously lame guys...

"Est-ce une faon d'avoir un "bon droulement de la scurit de ses oprations" ou est-ce une faon pour les organisateurs de suivre la vague des capitalismes gourmands en ambitionnant sur les gens?"

apparently Michael Moore is doing a video about piknic organisation

j'en reviens pas que tu sois membre de ca Malek ...

Je me pose des questions, mais disons que le but du groupe est correct, les caves qui postent l c'est une autre histoire.... comme tu vois c'est remplis de hippies (qui pue qui pue).

I'm not gonna boycott Piknic... I just joined the group that was AGAINST the new rule... I'll still go with a big smile on my face and my dancing shoes on...

I know Michel and the Piknic team has nothing to do with this law. It's completely 100% on the governments side. I'm just saying that ON THE GOVERNMENT SIDE it's clearly a way to increase profit.

Like Maher said, even if less people go (which won't happen anyway) there will be more room for us

PIKNIC 4 LIFE!

very subtle, lol.

This gov't conspiracy is marginal at best, imo. Whether you buy beer beforehand or at the Parc they will make money off you anyways.

I can see a blanket rule on liquids as a whole (to prevent potentially dangerous GHB consumption too) but they won't be able to stop the smaller stuff that one can easily bring into these events.... unless Brian is searching

Posted by malek on Apr-29-2010 20:26:

the space is so huge, i don't see how they can prevent anyone from throwing something in the area....

+1. I love seeing families with kids there on days where it fits, like Fred Everything or other straight up housey DJs. I wish my parents brought me up like that.

I'd like to see another organization throw a competing party to draw away the kids who don't care about the music anyway and just want to party. Someone cheesy like Ray Jr. If they were marketed to, there's decent money to be made, and we would enjoy a better crowd.
