Seriously. I havne't been to Guv in over a year and a I don't see myself going there anytime soon. The lineups have been completely bombing. Not a single DJ I'm even intrigued to see for Canada Day. Barf at that lineup.

There seems to be some rooms/artists missing...

What's the deal? Is the mau5 doing like 8 hours or something?

Posted by kotsy on May-26-2010 08:11:

Still waiting for the full lineup but this will probably be the first all access party I miss in 3 years

Posted by Intangible on May-26-2010 11:32:

Wow the Canada Day line up really depresses me. This party means so much to me

Posted by ChemEnhanced on May-26-2010 11:55:

Why are people surprised.....this is what the current party goers want.

i kinda see what your saying
the whole electro/house/dutch pop house scene is getting bigger and bigger
but where is the variety?
look at this past weekend you had pvd, emery, sanchez, fedde, carlo lio etc etc
this line-up is catering only to basically one genre of music

The variety will be from the locals in the other rooms. Its hard to fill a club for the Canada Day Long Weekend so it only makes sense to bring in DJs that appeal to the largest group of party goers.

guv booking management should put their heads down in shame for this one....HUGE shame on them

Posted by XxGreekStylexX on May-26-2010 16:37:

only way i'll go is if they announce an amazing dj spinning a sunrise set... but so far it doesn't look like that will be happening....

Posted by FunkyCrew on May-26-2010 17:13:

oh get over yourselves, wah wah wah
there are 2 awesome boat cruises the next day, save your money for that
srsly, the world will not end if you don't go to guv for Canada Day

Seriously?

For me and so many other's this is the most anticipated party of the year. It was my very first party, featuring my most favourite DJ, and every year has been magical in one way or another.
To go from what I considered the 'perfect party' to this shit is beyond disppointing.

For your convenience I edited the first post in the thread

deadhouse and MSTRKraft dinner. wow.

Posted by jon jon on May-26-2010 18:15:

hahah I think deadmau5 is an incredible booking for Canada Day... it'll be insane in there...

lol @ people who think they know everything

Posted by jon jon on May-26-2010 18:17:

a lot of the comments in this thread also typify the "never satisfied - always snobby Torontonian"...

lol, drop that lineup in MTLTA, this is nothing

Only the west forum would be happy with deadhouse and Kraft Dinner ... but you're right, it will be a party for sure. He and Benassi will at least bring the women and crowd...

no one can deny that it's going to be packed in there... deadmau5 is a HUGE draw, and he's proven so in his last guv appearances where there was barely any room to move in the main room lol

Posted by WittyHandle on May-26-2010 18:35:

There are people everywhere who love to complain, but that doesn't mean other people can't simply state what they do and don't enjoy musically.

Posted by FunkyCrew on May-26-2010 18:39:

anyone else wants to roll their eyes at me?
srsly guys, you are a bunch of whiny biatches sometimes
there will be TONS of other things going on that weekend besides the cruises if those doesn't fit your taste

and totally lol @ know-it-all conga line commentary

all I'm saying is that the world won't end if you don't go to Guv that weekend

that's fine if you don't like boat cruises, but don't placate the fact that both of those Canada Day cruises (Victor Calderone/ Demi & Omid) are fucking huge party's (each boat fits 500+ people) and MANY other North American cities would shit themselves if they ONLY had those 2 options to choose from...(we'll likely have 20+ options for that 4 day weekend)

Posted by slingshot on May-26-2010 18:55:

For anybody wondering why Guv has been consistently falling in the world club rankings, I think this Canada Day line-up can offer some pretty good insight as to why. Guv used to be on the fore-front of music, their all access parties legendary. I don't think your club's reputation carries much clout in the global dj scene when guys like b-nasty are saying "hey, the guv is awesome."

just my opinion. word of mouth travels farther than most think.
