Joss you only make the point that if you keep things in context they make sense, but when you take them out of context they don't.

Eg. people thinking I'm nuts becuase I collect things from the wild may be a viewpoint, but if that viewpoint is used to imprison someone indefinately, is it really reasonable for them to push the view?

What about someone growing their hair out when they are male, is this reason enough to imprison someone indefinately.

What about haaving their own religious worldview? Are people entitled to have their own beleif in god? Or a world view of what are good morals or ethics?

--- And yes ---- the fact is --- that my world view is not an offensive one, it is one that lets people live their life.

What the above was talking about were two things.

1. The fact that a peaceful person who is harassed and attacked without valid cause only has two options to be harassed and attacked or to confront their aggressors. The first statement is just a relay of that idea. In your little blurb though, you take that out of context and make it seem just this mindless rant. There is a background to the statement you are ommitting.

2. The second one was talking about religious beleifs and it is out of context - religious beleifs tend to seem nutty to anyone who doesn't follow that faith anyway. Like slitting cows necks, bathing in only one river, only letting vultures eat the meat of your deceased loved ones, living on a gaint turtle, sacrificing your first born, or a live horse in a giant bonfire, bathing in running water and not going around anyone if you have sex, etc..

All of these things have reasons though, but you won't understand them unless you learn the background.

You've been painting me as "some mad freak" for over 5 years now. You got to understand that someday you will be accountable. As stated your past actions don't just disappear. It is lifelong.

as disgusting as this thread is, can you blame them? their drinking water is contaminated with heavy metals, they're probably all loonier than daffy duck. this terrible treatment of the people to those animals is very similar to their government's treatment to the people

That I wonder if everyone that thinks this is deplorable would also be outraged by a similar situation afflicting other animals, such as cows and pigs, and I also wonder if people would be tolerant of this situation if the dogs were well kept, but were swiftly and painlessly killed in order to be devoured by hungry foreigners.

this story is disgusting because of the inhumane treatment of the animals, food source or not they don't deserve that bullshit. so i'd feel the same way regardless of the animal, dog/cat/cow/chicken. on a personal level i would never be ok with eating dogs/cats cuz they're our buddies not our food and that's just my personal perspective based on our culture. i've never had a cow or other livestock as a companion so i don't see them on any personal level and i'd rather not think about the cow's life when i'm enjoying a steak, ignorance is bliss sort of thing. just as long as it was treated well and was killed painlessly i'm ok with it. if the cow was beaten to death then i'm against it fully

my wife is first generation chinese, moved to america at a very young age. her parents are what she calls "old school / traditional chinese", they have very little respect or interest in pets but they would never beat them in that fashion because while they may be "old school chinese" in their views they're not fucking barbarians like the people this story is covering. but her family is from a small village so they have their own ways of doing things, certainly way of life is different in china's cities. her parents don't see pets as useful because they feel like the energy/money would be better spent on having children instead. it's just an old fashioned way point of view that has to do with their culture. her mom is always on the "when are you having a baby" kick and we have to pretend we don't have dogs/cats as pets (they live out in Cali and we always visit them not vice versa) lol

so yes there are cultural differences, god knows i was mildly culture-shocked when i moved from up north to down here in the south. i can't imagine the differences between china and america. but that's no excuse for barbaric neanderthal behavior like beating them to near-death for better taste, horseshit
