The problem with you people is that you stumble on to one post where I am rude and there is a very valid reason and for some reason, you use that one post to validate how you feel about me.

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...rder=descending

Take a look at all my posts. You will find me being rude 1% of the time and in every case, I am either provoked or some person is being a douche. You will also find me helping you out answering questions 80% of the time. The other 19% is being incredibly funny or flirting with palm. it is quite obvious this hatred is coming from some inherent dislike which I can only attribute to my career and qualifications which I only ever talk about when asked which then gets called ego. The only time I ever start going on about how great I am is when you start asking me how good I am. I don't have an ago at work as I am the noob working with world renown people. But just like if you were to play with some kids in grade 3 doing math problems and one of those kids, lets call him Robbie starts giving you shit, well you get annoyed. I love kids but it is quite hard to explain to someone that just won't understand. Am I great ? no. Do I know more than 99% of you concerning the entire realm of music. Yes. Does it matter ? no. Have I ever claimed it mattered? No. People ask and I reply.

My remarks concerning the amateur hacks are aimed to that specific demography of talentless nitwits for a reason as they seem to be the ones incapable of understanding that some person knows more than them and has a 27 year head start. These people know who they are. The individuals I respect here know I am not grouping them together. I have no issues with people that are not good. I have issues with people that clearly don't know much always goading me to prove myself. You have no idea how hard it is not to reveal all the details much of it bound by NDA as you would feel quite irrelevant quite fast.

I have never seen such a public display of blowing things out of proportion. I said my bit and I meant it. I was quite content to hang out here continuing to answer and help people but it is absolutely embarrassing having to take shit from some of you. I've earned my dues. I've done my time and that doesn't mean I act like an asshole because I can. The only time that ugly side veers its head is when i'm needlessly confronted with people that I would consider completely new at music trying to undermine opinions with the typical adhominem which is compounded with champagne but I haven't had a glass in weeks. It is really really annoying and I just can't be bothered.

This place has an awful lot of jaded bedroom producers angry at god knows what. Perhaps they are pissed off that they can't get released. Perhaps they hate anyone that is doing better than them. I don't know. I've never rubbed anything in anyone's face unless it was shtick involving tehlord.

There is nothing wrong of being normal, being average, newbie - talented, brilliant, bright or educated and nothing wrong of having a dream and doing whatever is possible of reaching it ALL OF THIS IS NORMAL at the same time Im in no position to tell someone that he shouldnt do something he really love to do or change his hobby because he really suck in it THIS IS ULTIMETLY HIS CHOICE, HIS DECISION.
If you have any massage/comment and you have to say it, even if something is so bad that you cant stand it, please use your words wisely and respectfully, so you get your massage through and didnt have to embarrass yourself.

Remember LIVE IS ALWAYS A TWO WAY STREET, you treat someone the same way you want hem/her to treat you!!!

Cheers

Oh, for the love of...

Posted by Storyteller on Nov-29-2010 21:39:

That's exactly what I was thinking too.

Posted by DJ Robby Rox on Nov-29-2010 21:46:

Thats precisely what I can't stand is snidy little remarks like mystery and storyteller are doing right now. (are these NOT "long term" members? thats disgraceful imo especially after what digi wrote)

If you 2 can't contribute, and have nothing important to say, why are you even in this thread?

I've have seen neither of you 2 do ANYTHING in this thread but instigate shit and you're doing it right now. "Oh for the love of" are you kidding me?

SPEAK what your problem is in a civil/sophisticated manner. If you can NOT do that you're not doing anything productive for the forum at all.

This was brilliant, smart, concise, and to the point.
You should NOT expect respect in any way shape or form unless it is something you can actually give yourself.

This is also the reason I have never EVER once got into it with you before is because you are patient, use your brain, and don't bullshit people. You are also not even the slightest degree pretentious which is a very rare find around here. Everything you have said in this thread has been right on point and I couldn't agree anymore.

Both of you (Mad for Brad and you Robby) are brilliant guys in its all special way - we all just have to establish a civilize way of communicating between us and drop this ego issue and everything will be back to normal - YOU CAN'T FORCE SOMEONE TO LOVE YOU BUT YOU DEFINITELY CAN HAVE HIS RESPECT.

Just to be clear.

You never rubbed my face in anything, ok boy?

Posted by DJ RANN on Nov-29-2010 22:04:

Much as I appreciate you guys telling us about your feelings and your inner thoughts on respect, this is not the place for it.

Richie responded as it was needed for a clarification and he explained his whole reaction well.

As diginut so excellently verbalized there are times and places for everything, but as he highighted the production forum should not be one of them.

What Mystery and Storyteller are getting at is could we please leave the esoteric waffle about feelings and life lessons for the c0r.

Please take it to the c0r or MD forums, and not do it here....that's the whole problem with this place at the moment.

Posted by Aesthetic on Nov-29-2010 22:07:

Won't say anymore in here but kit hit the right mark. Everyone making excuses for the guy are potentially kissing his feet. I guess in Australia, we don't tolerate arrogance well

BOOHOO. This is a worthless topic filled with utterly childish posts all over the place. That's my problem and I implicated that on page 11 already. If anything you should have said I'm at least being consistent.

Soz... What Rann said more or less.

Sorry my friend, you just completely miss my point (I guess it is my fault as I didn't do good enough job explaining where I'm going with this) - this is all about "US" and "THE WAY WE COMMUNICATING BETWEEN US ON TA SITE" in the past and from now on, nothing more nothing less than that.

Cheers

I hear you, and knew from the outset what you were getting at but this thread never should have existed in the first place and we certainly don't need 16 pages of esoteric arguments and psychobabble about feelings for people who already know damn well what content actually belongs in this forum.

I'm not having a go - you're words are genuine and meant well but we all know what this forum is for: DISCUSSSING PRODUCTION RELATED TOPICS. Always has been.

DIGI can you pelase close this already?

Cheers from the guy who love music!!!!!!

Completely agree with you - DJ RANN

You're the one who just wrote "boohoo" which is language commonly used by children.
Yet every other post besides yours I assume you read as "childish" right?.

Yes you're being consistent, but the man is trying to speak what he feels, he's not being rude, so I don't see any problem with someone making an attempt at civil debate around here. If anything its actually a large change from where this thread started.
The same exact way cryo tends to be a peaceholder around here so does trancelover, and you would never respond to cryo like that so why do it to him? I just don't understand it.

The man was only trying to say that new members/producers deserve respect the same exact way an experienced member would.

I've been a member at a bodybuilding forum for 9 years, I'm a "long term" member. People respect me sometimes when they shouldn't. And I often see newbies not getting any respect at all when its deserved. But we have a moderating system over there that handles that.

Over here we don't, so I believe what he said was rather insightful and nothing to scoff at. Just MY opinion. If we need to learn how to communicate better with each other we need to learn how to be more accepting.
ALL I'm saying.
All he was saying was theres nothing wrong with being a new

What forum are you posting at?
Ever since I first joined here 3 or 4 years ago we never once discussed soley production topics.

This thread is no change from the past at all and I like how you like to pretend that it is. Just so you can keep supporting your conspiracy theory that newmembers are driving this site to shit, which is completely not true.

You leave a steering wheel unoccupied for long enough and guess what happens to the car? It drives right into a telephone pole at some point and thats inevitable.

I don't want to get sucked into this nonsense. You misinterpreted my post entirely otherwise you wouldn't have replied to it. It was aimed at almost everybody you're not talking about right now. I will refrain from explaining any further. It's a waste of my time as this topic is a waste of space on this forum.

No its not a waste of space I think its pretty damn imporant to tell me I misinterpreted something if thats the case (otherwise every conversation that follows is bound to be misinterpreted in someway).

But when you come in here every 10 posts typing 1 ambigous sentence I'm not sure how anyone is suppose to know exactly what you mean. I apologize if I mistook what you said I obviously have no idea what you're talking about, so I'll leave it at that.

Posted by Seandroid on Nov-30-2010 00:00:

I just figured I'd say something, because I was one of those new members that posted, that had M4B go apeshit on, then I responded equally... uh... apeshitilly and then the whole thread went to shit, but M4B, veiled underneath the fact that he's kind of inconsiderate was pretty helpful.

I went back and listened to the track I posted the next day (I posted the thread at like 3 AM right after I finished it and it sounded like the second coming of jesus to me) and it was pretty hilariously horrible.

Since then I've been doing a lot more research on theory and I bought some new equipment to improve my mixes, and M4B has been a lot nicer to me, and actually posted in my thread about my new track that I'm working on and he never snapped or attacked me.

What I'm trying to say is, while he pisses me off on a regular basis he did help me. I don't want him to go away because he is knowledgeable and can help people but I'd just appreciate it if he was a bit less of a dick about it =D

Fine, if "respect" is too loaded a word for you (or anyone else) then call it "professional courtesy". The point is, if we want to keep experts in our community and avoid the "brain drain" that affects so many online communities, then we can't allow people to bait and disparage them whenever they display the slightest bit of ego. Experts don't like being shouted down by novices; say what you will about the quality of one's character, but that is a fact of life and anybody who's an expert on any subject at all will be able to identify with that statement.

So again, call it what you want, but everybody here should endeavour to treat other people here at least as well as they would treat a coworker; if they've got some annoying personality quirk, then as long as it's not hurting anyone else, you learn to deal with it because they might have something you need. If you think M4B is a blowhard then ignore him, but resist the urge to try to take him down a notch; that's escalating the situation significantly and just isn't constructive behaviour.

I'm not necessarily blaming you, for the record, I'm saying this to everyone. This whole forum desperately needs an infusion of maturity. There are plenty of ways to express skepticism or disagreement without creating hostility. Choose one.
