So here it is.....

1) The Original Venue Booked for this event was at one of the Cinespace's Warehouses in the east end of the City. Aroudn Cherry St.

Cinespace owns about 15 warehouse's in about 4 to 5 diferent locations
across the city.

The east end warehouse was booked quite awhile ago.
And this location was definately a downtown Warehouse.

But then something strange happened a few weeks ago.

Basically while shooting Resident Evil 5 in the planned warehouse a bunch of actors and extras were seriously injured because some type of stage, set or stagging collapsed. Thank god Milla Jovoiwich was not hurt lol.... anyways the cops came to investiagate and shut down the warehouse until they deemed it fit. The warehouse is still under investigation for what exactly happened. The Cinespace people deemed this as a crisis and then wanted the party moved to one of their other
warehouses. Hence Downsview.

Now for the People complaining about Downsview you need to wake up a bit and understand that the new venue was one of the best venues back in the day. Yest its a little more out of the city but cmon its time for a change and a fresh space...this is it.Take a journey and learn
something....

The End.

it sucks that this happened, but so many of us bitch about lack of variety in this city. Someone stepped up and brought something new and stuff happened that was out of their control and all we do is bitch about it.

I can't make it to this due to work, but I still think this party deserves a shot and our support.

And the Luciano Montreal cancelation does not affect the Toronto show.
Infact now people are driving here from Montreal. im already getting some calls.

People whining at having to go to Downsview for a big room party =

Where's your sense of adventure, smothered by an incessant need for convenience?

That makes sense and should put people at ease. I think the fact venue was never officially announced and just said downtown warehouse gave people the impression this was semi planned from the start, but that's obviously not the case. Good on you for laying out what happened though as far too many promoters don't bother.

Hopefully they have it all sorted out for the Cox show though.

Is this going to affect the Carl Cox party as well? Should we assume Downsview to be the same venue? I wouldn't mind knowing since some friends were considering getting a hotel in DT Toronto which would be pointless if it's at Downsview. Could get one closer and cheaper if that's the case.

Actually i remember going to raves at Pallazzo's, Luxor night club, in a warehouse around castlefield, congress center, international center. FUCK DT lol!
People are cry babies.
The only thing that will bug me is if its full of "old school raver types" Thats why i stopped going. Too many kids. But i got a feeling it wont be!

Posted by djchez on Oct-26-2011 19:25:

totes. it's a perfectly reasonable explanation, and thanks for clearing everything up. however, just my two cents - they probably would have avoided all this complaining and confusion by just being clear about the change in venue in the first place...those photos of the space were posted a while ago so i imagine the downsview venue has been booked for a little while. i could be wrong (it's been known to happen ).

i love how everyone is complaining about people complaining about the change in venue. it's perfectly valid to be disappointed in a change in plans, folks!!!

anyhooters, hopefully i don't end up on the ttc the following morning in my costume. could be rather embarassing.
