Oakenfold contributed just as much to the commercialization of dance culture as anyone. Did you forget about his show, "The Club," in the mid-2000's? I'd also point out his only returned to trance form in the last year or so. Before that point, his label was a forgotten relic because it didn't release things people were buying.

Arty doesn't make Trance btw... I don't know why people think he does. He makes Progressive House that takes numerous points from the recent House and Electro movements. Clubbers like you, unfortunately, will be in a minority. I'm not trying to belittle your opinion or power, but realistically those of us following dance music since the upswing in 90's era house have been weeded out for the new, hip, cool kids from college that find modern Tiesto, Steve Angello, and more godly legends.

As artists has to make money to survive, and that means sales and touring. If you aren't selling, and you aren't touring, you aren't making money to survive. Look at Rank 1's or Cosmic Gate's complete shift in styles. If anyone thinks that had something to do with the flavor of the month artist, they should reevaluate their position.

Really hope he opens it out tonight and less of the orjan/gaia style dominating the set. Last week for me he didnt even get out of second gear. Plays Concrete Angel and it sounded like the set was going to take off. But he seems so comfortable with the gaia/orjan style he dropped it right back down again.
