Honestly, don't even feel like going for the 2nd day.
I saw all that I needed to see at neon Garden last night, anything else is just terrible music with a bunch of fucked up teenagers.
Sorry, but after seeing Calderone, Craig, Loco, and Richie tear it apart at neon garden, there is absolutely no reason to go deal with that shitty crowd to see a bunch of pop-crap EDM music.
That was an absolutely incredible night of music. Jaw-dropping. Among the best events I've ever been to. Too bad the rest of the festival is nothing like that.
Hawtin destroyed, as he does every time I've seen him. Loco was great, and I really enjoyed Calderone's set. Wish I could have seen more than an hour of Gaiser but he was a monster in the hour I saw
I was really digging Craig's set too man...his offerings were very diverse and just had an experimental Detroit feel and he even mixed in some psy-trancey sounding shit...was def jamming out to that. I loved that stage, had an intimate feeling but still big enough, reminded me of the stages at DEMF. Was perfect for those set of DJs.
Man the tech stage was where the party was. Despite the numbers of people actually there. Plenty of room to dance, sit, chill, bathrooms nearby empty most of the time, food and drinks, etc. What else could you have asked for? The day got gradually better and then Hawtin stepped up to the decks. After watching these guys last night I am more disenfranchised with trance and its DJ's. These guys didn't play a single thing that sounded anything with elements from dubstep and electro house. Wish I could say the same from Cosmic and Markus, but I can't.
Let me talk about the crowd. Wow, the crowd was awful anywhere but at the Tech stage. There was a stretch of time during Markus where I was feeling the music and I couldn't dance because asshole bro's and the typical 40-girl chain train that runs through the crowd, but in the end I didn't expect anything better from that stage.
TL;DR: I love you Trance but Techno is coming up strong, watch out!
Man, other then Schulz, Neon kept drawing me back....glad I hung out there, really enjoyed it.
This set is a LOT of what Richie played last night... Enjoy

Ugh...what a disappointing weekend. I wish I would have stayed at the tech house stage friday. Cosmic Gate was brutal and I'd never seen markus schulz before and wanted to catch his set and then we ended up leaving soon after that bc we were so tired from the long day. I thought Markus had the best set I heard all weekend (we were only there from 7-10 on Friday and 7-1145 on Saturday)
Saturday was a total fucking letdown. Morgan Page and Tritonal played almost nothing but cheesy commerical bullshit. I expected that from MP, but was hoping for a lot more from Tritonal. And then there was Armin. This made the 5th time I'd seen him and while he had his moments, this was the first time I didn't thoroughly enjoy him live. It just seemed like everyone was catering to the crowd made up of almost nothing but kids. I found it pretty ironic when we left for the night at 11:30, we popped our heads into the afrojack stage - didn't seem much different from what armin of people was playing lol! Granted we listened to afrojack for all of 60 seconds.
The other annoying thing about EDC was that there was nothing but a bunch of kids fucked up out of their minds actin a fool. I will say the production and sound setup seemed on point at least. I dunno, maybe I'm just getting old and too picky wishing the old trance sound from 2000-late 2000's was still going strong. I think I'll stick to club settings from here on out.
to each his own i guess, i had a great couple of days. its not ultra or edc vegas, but was all around good fun. met some great new friends and had a blast. Ended up at firestone, was a fun time.
I will agree with some of the crowd observations tho..
Maybe it's cause I'm getting older but damn these kids get weird on drugs. Don't know what happened to the good ol days

you know what the real fucked up thing is? those kids think that shit is actually fun. never had the real shit in their lives.
I think it has less to do with the research chemicals and more to do with the whole "where is Molly so I can roll face" culture this kids have. They think it's cool to drink/take "Molly" and act a fool. In my earlier there were never problems at edm events but now all the guidos act a fool and wanna fight
I went yesterday it was ok had a decent time besides the whole I'm too old for this feeling.
No more festivals for me unless it's ur1 or something similar where the music matters and pop culture doesn't
Kids will be kids, I'm just glad there is enough of them to support this show and chose to do so. I went Friday night and had a blast. Cosmic Gate, Loco Dice, Markus Shultz delivered but Porter Robinson destroyed the place with some next level shit and stole the show IMO.
I went Saturday and had a great time overall. It was nice to catch up with some peeps all around Florida. That was pretty much the whole reason of going was to see friends. Got in at 230 just in time to catch the end of Icey set. Morgan Page did a great job along with Tritonal and Armin. Not the best sets heard from them but oh well. Eye candy was very appealing
The carnival ride next to circuit grounds tore up my rib cage on left side with big ass puffy bruise. Haven't sleep yet from last night had a friend come over after and we had a small party haha.. Gonna go lay down for a bit
Lata
Electronic DUST Carnival. I was blowing out black mucus out of my nostrils both days. Only 1 entrance into the event. Took almost 2 hours to get inside the venue. Line-ups were horrible. Bunch of retarded bros "raging!". This will be the LAST festival I will attend with mainstream DJ's on the bill.
Other then the stated above there was great production (audio+visual)
I knew this event was going to be bad going in but the only reason I attended was to see Richie Hawtin + Loco Dice as they are a rarity in the CFL area. Let's just say those 2 took a giant shit on the entire EDC DJ's combined. MIND BLOWING! Great people and vibes at Neon Garden stage on friday where a majority of the crowd actually knew their music.

And yes I know my post is negative and no one likes a negative nelly (lol) but when you spend a lot of money on a festival, I think it's ok to have some standards and to voice your displeasure when it fails to deliver.
EDC failed in a big way on the music front. Sure, the place was packed and the audio and visuals were pretty damn good but guess what? It's a MUSIC festival and that aspect of it sucked! But I know now what these festivals will be like...catering to the 18-21 year old crowd who do not know a damn thing about the music and are there simply to take as much bath salts as possible, wearing stupid neon clothes and "raging." I'm good.
