Back 2 The Topic:

Speaking about Quality & Quantity Germany ownz UK for trance productions as well as djs. Thats all there is to it...Sure UK has good trance djs and produces some good trance, it's just not as much. Which means Germany "ownz the whole trance community"

They have for sure the best dj's on the planet:

John '00' Fleming
Paul Oakenfold
Sasha & Digweed
James Holden
Parks & Wilson
......

And they spin quality trance, not the cheesy shit like Ferry, Armin, Gielen etc.....pump out of their turntables
I just wanna say the UK ownz
I love the underground sound there, keep it this way!
RESPECT for the UK

Tranceseeker , you the man!!
I'm glad you started this thread. You are absolutely correct about UK djs and producers.
Be aware however that there some cheesy producers from the UK as well. Paul Oaknfold has bee on the cheesy side for a while. But the biggest spinner of cheese from the UK has got to be Mr Judge Jules!!

What's all this Scooter dissing?
I love all the great Dutch dj's, but Germany and the UK have great ones too! So let's bury the hatchet, shall we?

But still....."If there was a trance nation, Holland would be it"
And Scooter has made lots of great trance tunes, no cheese at all. They're just on the albums, not on the singles that you guys probably know.

Rarely do I find such stupid stereotypes posted. But this is undisputably one of them.

FIRST: Ferry, Armin, Tiesto do NOT spin Uplifting Trance (which I presume you mean when you say "cheesy shit"); listen to one of their sets, and then post. They've all switched a long time ago

SECOND: Uplifting Trance is NOT "cheesy shit," and I will NOT have you diss my and other people's favorite genre! No, we're not less intelligent than you, trust me -- we prefer good melodies in our music, we like to have a good time, and we enjoy good music and good life! Therefore, stop this arrogant attitude NOW!

THIRD: You're a fan of M.I.K.E. What about his tunes like "Please Save Me" and "Strange World"? Are they "cheesy shit" too?

In this post, Eugene makes the following assertions:

1. When TranceSeeker says "not the cheesy shit like Ferry, Armin, Gielen pump out of their turntables" he is referring to uplifting trance.
2. Ferry, Armin, and Tiesto do not even spin Uplifting Trance anyway.
3. Uplifting trance is not "cheesy shit"
4. "Please Save Me" and "Strange World" are examples of Uplifting Trance produced by M.I.K.E. (thus, to be consistent, if you considered uplifting trance cheese, you would have to consider those productions cheese as well).

He does NOT make any of the following assertions:

1. Uplifting trance is cheese.
2. Strange world is cheese.

So, shall we continue?

Third: Strange World aint cheese. Overplayed? maybe. Cheese? no. If you think cheese and uplifting are the same then thats pretty dumb.

In this post, DJ Mikey Mike has committed a textbook "Missing The Point" fallacy. He erroneously concluded that Eugene had asserted that uplifting trance was cheese, and therefore since Strange World is uplifting, it is also cheese. However, Eugene was acutally ridiculing that notion in his post, instead suggesting that it was TranceSeeker's opinion that uplifting = cheese (not Eugene's opinion) and that IF TranceSeeker wanted to be consistent with his remaks, he would have to admit that Strange World was cheese by the definition of cheese he had been using. This can clearly be seen by the fact that Eugene said "SECOND: Uplifting trance is not 'cheesy shit'".

Then, Eugene, seeing that his post had been misunderstood attempted to reassert the same point he was making earlier in a much simpler fashion, so that it would not continue to be misconstrued in this post:

However, since DJ Mikey Mike did not understand Eugene's previous post, it seemed to him to be a complete reversal of Eugene's original assertions, so he responded:

quote:

woa there buddy.. u back track any further u'll go thru the wall

This, however, was not the case. Eugene never asserted that uplifting was cheese. He asserted the opposite, twice!

I hope this clears things up. It just appeared there was a serious misunderstanding of what Eugene was saying in the first place.

Cheers,

Arbiter
