Wow, you are such fucking knob. I don't work for the club, but I was a patron of Footwork for over 7 years and as a result, know the people who run the place personally. I can say with complete confidence that they do everything they can to put the customer first. As I'm sure most have noticed before, I'm not someone who doles out these kind of compliments for no reason, and will not mince words when I have experienced an unreasonably shitty situation at a party. Knowing how hard these guys work to make things run smoothly for their patrons makes stupid comments like yours insulting.

I don't know what fantasy land you're living in, but reading your complaints about Footwork over the years (including the complaint about Coda), you seem to think that if you arrive past midnight to a massive party, with tickets completely sold out, that you are just going to be able to prance in on red carpet with no wait. Show me any nightclub in Toronto or even globally where this is going to happen (yes, even if you have a ticket). The door staff who worked at Footwork and now Coda are some of the most patient door staff I've ever met anywhere. In an at-capacity situation at almost any other nightclub, door staff, bark, yell, and treat the people in line like cattle. Even if you have a ticket, on a night like this you would run a huge risk not getting in if you arrived this late. This rarely happens with Coda door staff.

If you don't like lines, why don't you show up earlier? Better yet, why don't you stay home? You sure seem to have a hate on for this club and the people involved.

Agreed. Footwork and Coda bouncers are the nicest, most respectful and most patient in the business as far as I can tell.

Coats aren't the only thing checked son. Bags, backpacks, purses, etc all take up space. And if a venue goes over legal capacity that's a different story.

First off, you don't have to disrespect me. I'm trying to explain why this club isn't all perfect. If anything I'm doing Coda a service for improving themselves and becoming "that" club.
Because you know the staff personally as you put it, you are probably let in without hassle, but many other people who don't know them as well have to encounter like a huge lineup for absolutely no reason at muliptle events, sometimes even two, at Footwork. They don't put the custie first as a result, otherwise they wouldn't resort to these antics.

I actually don't know what fantasy land YOU'RE living in. You misunderstood me completely about my complaints as I do expect a wait for a busy event but not for no reason. Yes, the security is patient...patiently making you wait over 1.5 hours to get in. They'll say the club is at capacity, but when I see droves of people leaving they still leave us waiting for no reason while some other bud past me and just get let in. They let certain custies get in first, and I get it because they have connections but I don't expect to be waiting for like over an hour when I see people clearly leaving and then tell me "we're at capacity". I don't expect to be let in right away, but this by no means shows they put the customer first, unless your concept of customer service is skewed.

And wait...if I have a ticket I should STILL wait in the general lineup?? You're calling me the knob? Pot calling the kettle black eh. Buddy, if you have a ticket you should be let in, no questions asked. You prepaid already and shouldn't be subjected to BS at the door. The only wait time should be for security checking people but that's it. For the record, I got in very smoothly and it seems like the only way you'll get in smoothly now is by buying tix. They shouldn't make you wait unnecessarily if you have a ticket...I can't believe you can actually justify a person not getting in even if they have a ticket! It just baffles me that people on this board can't see the faults of both FW/Coda and treat it like some holy shrine. Like you refuse to see what's going on really and it baffles me that you'd think a person would still have to wait when they have a ticket or it would still be okay for them not to be let in at all. They only way i can see a person not getting in with a ticket is if they're way too inebriated or something. It's clear that there's industry people here or people with ties to the industry and are just afraid of speaking their true mind.

^i was going to add that.

it's -20 outside, people are wearing 3 sweaters, people coming straight from work with bags, every single person is checking coats plus some people take more than one space to check other things.

North America still hasn't caught on yet, but having simple small coin lockers to supplement the coat check really helps alleviate these issues.

That would be the best�the problem is that they take up a lot of room. Probably about 1400 sq ft. of wall space only.

They also had small lockers at Ellui in Seoul as well. Also debit for drinks as well, but you had to buy two minimum. Thing with debit cards in Korea is that you don't have to enter a PIN so it's fast but with the advent of interac tap they can do it here.

Fair enough but I think it's the club's responsibility to have 1 coat hanger for everyone coming through the door. If coat check happens to fill up, people in line outside should be given a heads up because everyone feels differently about being stuck with their cost all night.

Having said all that, I gave up on coat check along time ago. Unless it's -20 out I just wear a zip up sweater and avoid two lines and a few bucks while I'm at it.

Nobbie, it's clear that they have your picture (only yours though, no one else's) up in the manager's office with the heading "fuck with this guy every time he's here".

I mean, it's gotta be that, right?

Its not just club Air, Id say half the clubs here at least (+every organized event) have them.

I hope they put some fans in Coda, it gets pretty humid sometimes. I'm sure there are other things they will fix up, but that seems to be my only gripe. I really enjoy my time there.


I would also like to know the staff more haha. Very nice people whenever I go with my friends who actually do know them.
