Na man, I used to be like you, hated GU and prog and that"boring" shit. But now I fricken love it! I duno maybe it's time cause I know many people that have moved on to Prog from Trance.
I don't really care what you think of it.

However I also love the epic stuff and just awsome trance, that is what I spin. But come on how much prog have you actually heard?
Have you heard Steve Lawler's Lights Out. That CD is fucking awsome!

One thing I have to agree on I'd rather hear trance in a club than Prog but when just sitting listening to enjoy the music I think I'd rather listen to prog (unless its a set like PvDs!)

But please don't be too close minded. Just remember this cause one day you might like it.

dude never, man ive listend to those cds i speak from my own experience i actually listened to tenaglia and and ive listened to lights out ive listened to GU, THAS how i know which ones suck and which ones dont. I like some prog i like James Holden, I like G& D, i like deep dish, i love charlie may, so im not just someone who disses somehthing with out at least trying it. I would never be close minded like that. Also that quote was only half of wat my original post, i stated in the begining that this wasnt a prog bashing post, but i did have to speak on some of the stuff they were saying is better than PvD. so no hard feelings against prog at all.

why is everyone acting like progressive is NOT trance?...IT IS TRANCE...just a sub-genre of trance...same way epic aka uplifting, tech, or hard are all forms of TRANCE..

I think progressive is lumped together with trance because people are afraid of stepping out into a new genre. i never once mentioned anything about Tiesto making prog a subgenre of trance...not once...not sure where u pulled that from.

but then if Prog is not a subgenre of trance then neither can Goa/Psy, Acid, Hard, Tech or any of the other subgenres....

For the past 7 years that i have been listening to trance, progressive was always a form of TRANCE......

there's progressive trance and progressive house, both are entirely different genres and have entirely different roots and beginnings.

Prog Trance takes its roots from Trance & Psy Trance, the majority of today's trance is progressive since its using different sounds etc to that of the mid-nineties. Progressive house takes its roots from epic and acid house. Producers such as James Holden & Sasha produce progressive house.
