-- what song are you desperate to get a full rip?

how can you be apart of an online community like this and have that view point of mp3s. this entire site is based on music that people get off the web. i mean its unTAish. not everyone can get the promo releases of every tune that comes out and clearly with all the kids in these forums...i mean they would have to save up their allowance for a year to buy one batch of records. its not like we are all djs here that play at clubs..then that might be a problem, but still you suck man.
DjMaytag is nothing but a filthy 10 dollar whore...
WHo the fuck he is telling us whats good and whats bad...i am soooo fucking tired of reading this thread,..Maytag do us all a favor and get the fuck out of TA.....we dont need RIAA kiss asses in TA..

Originally posted by Vesa Wasn't this thread initially meant for dreaming about which tracks would be nice if released? Dreaming isn't wrong. I haven't seen any unreleased track (meaning the musical piece, not the name of the track) posted here, and you may be the only one who ever expected such a thing might happen here.

Originally posted by Vesa Besides, I'm completely against DJ mixes or mixed compilations as a way of preserving trance heritage. They put the tracks in a context which is not what the producer intended. Imagine if the only copy of a M.I.K.E. production was preserved as part of a DJ Jean set. Would a later scholar or music enthusiast draw the right kind of conclusions?

Originally posted by Vesa I really meant Dancegrooves, Allstars and Rockhouse, which act as shops with direct links to distributors.

Originally posted by Vesa So you are not against mp3 sharing if there's a charge? If someone buys a little-known vinyl, rips it, and distributes it to say five persons, doesn't the cost of vinyl pay for subscription?

Originally posted by Vesa I've worked at the university, so I act based on reason, not based on justifications. You now have an opportunity to convince me by numerical facts and good arguments that the losses arising from a historical trance mp3 archive outweigh the gains.

Originally posted by uwmadtrance So I spend my hard-earned money on school and rent and food. Apparently I should not be afforded the right to listen to trance music (or any music for that matter) because I cannot afford to support the artists.

Originally posted by uwmadtrance I can only afford Ramen and Mac N' Cheese, and sometimes when I'm lucky, I can eat an extra value meal at McDonalds or order a pizza. When I can afford it, I make trips to see DJs throughout the midwest. My priorities are obviously quite out of line. I'm a criminal.

Originally posted by DJMaytag Well, it sounds like you're either exaggerating or getting screwed, one of the two. Most of the Trancemaster comps only cost me $19.99+tax at my local shop (the one I now work at.)

Back on topic... (and don't flame me - I'm utterly impervious to that rubbish):
I'm sure there are others who've posted here, but I'm totally GAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGING for a full rip of Hydra - Affinity.

). Mp3's are fucking great, they give people the ability to listen to what they think is good, not what the record companies tell them is good. I bet you sympathised with Britney Spears when she did that advert to say she was getting ripped off by people downloading her music. Face it your not gonna get any sympathy here, now you've had your perks, cock off
Considering the price of trance CD's here in Canada and the fact that I'm not gonna sell my soul or my computer just to get some (most good imports go from 40 bucks all the way up to 90 bucks, when normal cds go for around 20 dollars or less here, usually around 17,18) then yes i will keep downloading mp3s and not you or anyone can say anything to make me do otherwise.
you know what fuck maytag...
somemore tunes that i want are (see my sig) and also this beauty...
Marillion - Face 1004 (Mark Mitchell Mix)
why is marillion shit so hard to find??? AAARRRHHHHH!!!!

Originally posted by LiquidX Well, give me more info about your record store . Let me know the prices for Gatecrasher Wet , and Ibiza Euhporia. Thats a pretty cheap priced for an import, but Im guessing you are selling it USED ! ?
quote:
Originally posted by LiquidX But whatever, maybe your record store is in lack of demand, which could be the possible response for you to come up with all this, and you probably make your living selling records, and playing them. But, its only you .. but, I respect your opinion. One thing, you wont change nobodys way of thinking.
the public suddenly realized that the music industry was producing crappy cd's and they realized that cd companies had ripped them off for yrs (cd price fixing....settled the lawsuit with the DOJ). They don't make cd's like they used to..like I bought gu013 this morning off the net. Global Underground was about quality not quantity...I wish deejays would listen to that theory when they made compilations because their are so many shitty ones.
Well at least we know that we won't be broke, living in our parents basement for our entire lives, spending all our money on CD's because we feel that spreading MP3's is wrong
quote:
Originally posted by DJMaytag I don't think it's out of line for me to vent some frustration becuase I'm involved in a business that's hurt by the sharing of mp3 rips... and yes, we don't hardly sell ANY CD's anymore, after having quite a decent selection a few years ago. I think we've had like 3 people come in looking for CD's in the past year, and none asking for any CD in particular (why would they ask, if they knew what they wanted, they could just go online and get it?)
so true and it also forces the dj that mixes the series to actually put some effort into it or he/she knows that they won't be mixing that series again.
Don't blame poor sales on MP3's cause ur store is shit. And if MP3's are such a problem then why are music stores still open?
quote:
Originally posted by Vesa it's not possible to have a test run of the most vinyls because almost no vinyl shops have the majority of tracks. And the vinyls are sold out so quickly that if one travels to Germany or Holland next summer, the shops don't have many of the vinyls that came out in the fall of 2002.
quote:
Originally posted by Vesa I didn't say that. But I hope that all tracks are remembered primarily as individual pieces of art, and vinyl rips of excellent quality are good approximations. Still, I hope that live sets of even Eurodance DJs are preserved. They have their own value as well.

Originally posted by Vesa What I initially meant was that stores like Dancegrooves, Allstars and Rockhouse list ALL vinyls of Dutch trance labels. That's the difference. Trying to acquire back order vinyls there gives an excellent view of what vinyls are realistically available, and what would be best to download to save everyone's time and efforts (even Dancegrooves has some back orders, those without the Buy button).
you done complaining and going on and on?
I think everyone realizes yer pt of view but STOP IT...it's tired and pointless
DJ Maytag is just an uneducated guy so lets just leave him and his opinions alone.
he just goes on and on about it, we got the point. If he really wants to go on and on.....start another thread.
At the moment it would have to be Solar Stone - Solarcoaster (Midway mix)
Vesa, another quality post. I've come to expect nothing less
