Yeah, well, unfortunately many 8th graders don't so it's the government's responsibility to educate them.

shock to me, this not part of the yank governments anti-e war-path.

anyway, to many in this thread: im not saying you should all take drugs, but at least have some common sense and not be so narrowminded and/or listen to the bullshit people in the media feed you.

but smoking and alcohol is cool and doesnt harm you at all kids, does it!?

why are we going back and forth? everyone is claiming about their scientists. the anti drug movement is showing evidence of scientists claiming the harms of ecstasy. the pro drug movement is showing evidence claiming the safety of ecstasy. all we are going to do is say "well my study says..." back and forth. is it even going to matter anymore?

exactly my point, but note its always the anti drug peopel that start it. maybe they should just shut the fuck up and live their own lives instead of nosying into other peoples, its not as if peopel get addicted to ecstacy and go around stealing from old people or anything there smuch more menace in the world than a few peopel having a good time on some pills... they should stop acting like their peoples parents, but the funny thing is, i bet most of them smoek or drink and never lecture people on the dangers of it...

the end

Posted by djSlain on Dec-14-2003 20:08:

1 drink = 1 cigarrette = 1 E? nope

and my reason for arguing is that i really want to go out partying and clubbing WITHOUT being molested by cops because some bozos depend on clubs as their drug source. just get out the club, go to a street corner and look and wonder about all the street lights

So do something useful and support reform. Reform is the only solution to this problem.

Mainly because ecstasy is a new drug. Just look at how much time it takes for a person who smokes cigarettes do develop lung cancer. The effects on the population may take years to show. Besides, nobody said it's a one pill->you get cancer situation. One pill every now and then shouldn't do much harm. Regular use, on the other hand, may result in various damage to the body of which cancer is not excluded. I don't see why that's such a hard concept to grasp for some of you here.

I don't smoke and rarely drink alcohol. Besides, smaller amounts of alcohol are beneficial for heart condition.

I haven't seen many researches that claim ecstasy is harmless.

FFS where do you see cancer in that article? It says "DNA mutation", that is what was seen in the study. If people want to think "DNA mutation... sounds like might have something to do with cancer, but i never heard of ecstasy users getting cancer! The study is bullshit!" well then thats just faulty thinking

I'm a biochem / molecular biology major and have taken several genetics courses and also two courses in oncology. I know the science behind it

Thats great. But a couple courses in genetics doesnt cover this stuff. Im sure you spent lots of time, however, it seems like you are 3 years (minus 2 courses) away from my major.

*puts on flame suit*
