Fuck you're a stubborn ****, what was wrong with Underworld 1?

Ivan hutchinson reborn.......

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Jan-04-2006 00:16:

i liked it. just didnt love it. im getting old; it takes more than just a cool concept or setting to make a movie great for me these days. im tired of re-hashed action sequences or paper-thin plots. i want meaning and emotion as well as aesthetically pleasing fight scenes. *thinks of the matrix sequels and rolls eyes*

They werent kissing were they Kel?

We watched Igby Goes Down & Sin City yesterday. Two awesome movies

Posted by eRRaTiK on Jan-04-2006 00:44:

Sin City definitely rocks. Need to pick up the DVD.

Fun with Dick & Jane... better than I expected.
Harry Potter 3... too long, and they cut out DOBBY!
The Lion, the Witch & The Wardrobe... good, but could have been better. Re-sparked interest in the books though which is a good thing.

I didn't understand this bit, you might know, but i just want to know if you understand the concept behind blue screening and green screening.

Then we fall to the comment about Lucas's way of doing special effects then i read this comment and it just doesn't make sense

please explain.

Oh and yes, i watched this movie with my family a week ago. It was great because my dad hadn't been to a cinema for like 25 years so it was a cool way of showing him but the cinema screwed up, i mean we went it literelly watched 20 minutes of advertisments and they put on Harry Potter for us, the person comes in to say sorry and she will put king kong soon. I mean we watched 20 mins of ads so everyone was stressed out and they start king kong but with the ads again so in total we watched 40 minutes of ads.

I think everyone wanted to start a riot or something.

The film was great, thought the end was really well made and the special effects were top notch. King Kong moved smoothly with the help of that guy that did Gollum in LOTR behind the Motion Capture department.

Overall best film in a while

4/5

i found a lot of the city-scapes & a lot of the dinosaur with humans looking off tbh. because lucas uses so much digital in terms of set & design & in a fantastic (as opposed to 1900s US) style, its easier to maintain the disbelief. the scenes where i wasnt looking at the ape, ie scenery (particularly the city) looked ordinary imo.

as far as the screens go as i understand it theyre placed in backgrounds & on props to be digitally inserted/deleted/created post filming.

Ivan Hutchinson Jr, AKA PKC tune into channel 7 right now, one of the best movies of all time - Die Hard is on.

Sorry if it doesnt have emotional content like the Pianist but im sure you can bear it you big asshole

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Jan-04-2006 10:37:

die hards are good but theyre classics. not liking shit brainless action is not the same as not liking any.

i heard theyre putting a movie together which stars arnie, sylvester & chuck norris. they have to fight in a ring of death to see who gets the glory to diffuse 10 nuclear bombs using only their tongue. at the last second you find out theres a traitor and its someone youll never ever suspect. look out for the really awesome one-liners too.

sounds right up your alley buddy

nfi who ivan hutchinson is

look out this summer for dave begic's book, tentatively entitled:

me, and all the shit films/tv shows i like

Posted by Aesthetic on Jan-04-2006 10:41:

Followed up by PKC's enthralling self professed wankathon titled:

I'm a cock head, and I don't like any movie ever made.

Posted by OLi_A on Jan-04-2006 12:50:

seen it begic, it was shit

anyone seen Broken Flowers? stars bill murray, it is quite a handsome movie. makes no sense at some times but it is pretty funny (if you are like me and like odd awkward humour, not the ben stiller cheese [which i like also]).
id need to see it a second time to get it fully but id give it 4.5 low fat choc protein bars out of 5 just because it was oddly humerous and had an awesome soundtrack (which incidently i got and love)

Groundhog day on tv tonight

* waits for pkc to dissaprove =)

Saw Domino for the 3rd time today, the whole movie just oozes with style and a real grungy feeling. Left me really amazed, and wanting a new pair of sunnies! I suddenly felt fashion-ly inferior :P If you like Domino make sure you check out Man On Fire with Denzel Washington, it's by the same director and is one awesome revenge movie, very in-depth at times. Domino can also be quite hard to follow at times, but its just such a hot movie! Love it.

Also saw Chicken Little, since I love Shrek and all those movies but found this one a little young. Didnt have quite as many jokes for adults as shrek, etc. Funny moments but only worth a download I think. I just want a poster of the fish, easily the coolest character in the movie and he doesnt say a word.

Funny, checked into this thread hoping/wondering if Id see any posts/comments about Underworld: Evolution, and lookie what I found

I cannot wait for it to come out! Love vampires. Like the way they set up this world and hierarchy of things in this movie (though I still think the vampires should have been much more powerful, or at least Amilia... why the fuck was Viktor so strong (and Markus), but Amilia was a fucking wimp... or that's what we're left to assume anyways, I suppose we didnt see the fight scene, maybe she did infact kill off a whole bunch of lycans, but was overwhelmed in the end.... though i so no dead lycan bodies to even make that a very plausible possibility)

Just finished watching Underworld the extended edition w/ a chick who'd never seen it before (she loved it!) and popped on the trailer for the 2nd movie, due out here on Jan. 20th!

Oh giddy the fuck up! OH YEA!

Jem

not a movie but i would recommend watching prison break. i saw the trailors on tv and thought that it was just a hyped up piece of garbage but i have been watching episodes of it and it is actually really good. i dont know what channel 7 are going to do about the timeslot though, some of it is pretty graphic so they will either cut it or have it on late.

hahaha my cousin was telling me about this new film thats out in canada atm and his too chicken to go see it, coz we are going backpacking soon

Knowles chipped in first, when the pair were discussing horror some years back, and the subject of 'sick shit' on the internet cropped up; in particular certain sites that offered the opportunity to indulge in some extremely violent, serious and illegal acts in exchange for large sums of money.

Roth was intrigued by the notion, investigated further and before long the idea for 'Hostel' was born.

He showed what he had to Tarantino, and the man who killed Bill was immediately enthused by the concept, apparently saying: 'That's the fucking scariest, fucking sickest idea I've ever heard you've got to do it!'

The pair threw about several ideas late last year, and in no time at all the project was in motion and Eli was plunging head-first into the world of hardcore horror.

hahahah i love tarantino

finally got the chance to catch this last night. directed at a snail like pace, too slow even for my liking. i understood the fundamental purpose, but i think it was overkill. wasn't too suprising when a few people walked out half way in.

Lolita. *grin*

I interpreted it to be about the mid-life period. Between the 12-40 year period mark - you grow your innate strengths (sub-conciously)which moulds your outlook on life. But when you hit that mid year peak (mid-life crisis?), two things happen. One, you realise time's runing out. Two, you yearn for something more. It's no longer a challenge continuing to live your life using your innate strengths. We'll all go through it. The norm, - "drink eat and be merry now", look for meaning / watch indie flicks later (hence older crowds at commericial cinemas). But you'll get the occasionally oddball, who when 50, will buy the red porchse and screw as many girls as he can. Latter, will probably happen to me.

Anyway, its apparent in most of his gfs (lifestyle + career changes). The movie is that defining moment in his life - the road trip, about giving his life new meaning.

Ending, I thought, was very well done.

havent checked out the sound track yet. i assume it'd be predominantly ethiopian?
