hehe I think Kel was the only one dissapointed....it was her first time, she said she was expecting him really to play straight #1 (ie: vocal trance)hits the whole night
....he played amazing the whole night and had us eating out of his hands!!

Armin Boat Cruise - July 1 2004 was the best Armin set/experience EVER. If you missed this - you missed the magik.

IMO Armin has really gone down hill the last year or so.

I remember when each ASOT was some crazy event, Armin chatting with the fans, the broadcast done live, each tune blowing away the listeners... It appears that ASOT does not have the same level of interest or excitement (by both fans and Armin).

Even Armin's live shows seem to be more mechanical, more "planned", less spontaneous. The last few times I've seen Armin he's seemed slightly forced, deliberate. Maybe it's just me - but for someone who's seen Armin probably close to 10 times - this is just my observation.

I can certainly see your point .. maybe he just needs some time off to refresh.
It seems like he's been constantly touring over the past few years and doing ASOT must keep him awfully busy as well.

The first few times I saw him, he was sooo passionate and it would be sad to see that passion fade..

I'm not exactly a big Armin fan. In fact, I could miss him and not feel any regrets. Seen him 3 times up until Trance Energy 2006. All those times, I was like, Yay. Nothing too special, but everytime I saw him he got better and better, albeit just a tad.

When he played the mainstage @ Trance Energy 2006, he just banged it out nasty. Nothing but good tunes from beginning to end. SO much emotion, crowd interaction and everything you can wish for. He played NO garbage. No tracking my peehole down, no sleepy progressive flith, NOTHING bad. He played Energy. Kept it going. Trance Energy 2006 MAINSTAGE set IMO is the best set I've ever heard AND witnessed of Armin, and will ALWAYS remember it.

Though Armin is still my favourite DJ, I must say I partially agree with you, RJ.

His last 2-3 appearances in TO were not nearly as good (IMO) as his Guv 8 Year set... and, of course, w/o a moment's doubt, as you said, the Canada's Day Boast Cruise - MAY IT FOREVER BE REMEMBER!

And your words about the boat cruise are SO SPOT ON!

Best party "experience" of my life! Hands down. No seconds thoughts or doubts!

Jem

I knew it!!

Thanks for confirming that Yanks. Bc I was seriously shocked and saddened to hear that from KB!

That's awesome to hear. I would expect nothing less from Armin at a major Dutch trance festival.

I can't believe I didn't know all of you guys back then! This party was AMAZING. Best experience ever! I like Armin and all, but I'm not a HUGE Armin lover like so many of you on here...yet this day still goes down in history as one of the all time best party experiences.

I know. I wish I knew how hot you looked back then. Please post a good picture of what you were wearing at this party on the boat! Thanks, Lisa!

Jamie.

He'll never lose his passion.....
He really does spin VERY often and regularly tho.
Maybe it takes a toll on 'em

Personally, i still REALLY love ASOT - 233 was one of the best in
a LOOOOONG time, no understatement....

RJ/Jem: EVERYONE knows the boat cruise was the best thing in TO's history

NOt gonna happen: saw him there in 2003,
$$ for Europe this summer is TOP priority

Have to throw this in:
"This is just what I want," says ARMIN. "It's not love for music, it's a passion, and it goes beyond liking, and beyond a hobby, it's about a way of living. Music is essential for my life".
