| Originally posted by Rainborn I love the other little melody, or riff or whatever that kicks in about 30 to 40 secs after the little breakdown after about 4-5 minutes, so good, then the melody comes back in again. Lovely song! The Capriole tracks aren't bad either! |

| Originally posted by Rainborn Hell yes, Vernons Wonderland. Hmm... The stuff in the NASA set, and similiar stuff. That's a modern and fresh version of the older stuff, if you ask me. Maybe not as sinister, but still pretty similiar. |

For me it would have to be:
Airwave - Alone in the Dark
or
Humate - Love Stimulation
(Thinking of genre defining 'things' for the first time in maybe 2years although from the look of the dust on it who knows! i listened to John 00 Flemings mix compilation For Your Ears Only - nothing quite beats it for me)
Airwave's "Alone in the Dark" is a great tune. Haunting and deep.
BUT
The song that captures the very essence of what trance music as it was/is supposed to be is:
Cosmic Baby- "Space Track"
A simple hypnotic tune with a simple effective melody that induces a kind of a "universal state-of-mind" and a feeling of "oneness"...i know, it sounds very new-agey and mystical but it's trance music...you are supposed to get these hippie feelings by listening to it!
Heh, well at least for the "classic-trance" sound...not sure about all the other trances...
The Thrillseekers - Synesthasia (Ferry Corsten remix)
Airwave - Escape from Nowhere is even more trancier IMO.

I agree with the Andy Moor - Halcyon. I think right there with that one, and on the same label (Armind), is Mark Otten - Mushroom Therapy.
