it almost sounds like some of you got robbed or something in that order, well my only hope is that you at least deserved it, in one way or the other

Posted by drizzt81 on Nov-15-2005 00:34:

weird, I really don't see how you can put his 02 SF set into the same bag as his 03/04 sets. Especially the 04 sets were rather weak.

haha, Class Action Lawsuit. That's not needed. They did offer refunds to ticketbuyers.. just the way things were handled.. very, very poor.

In response to your post, I wasn't even a ticket-holder. I was a promoter providing promotional support for them, and as a promoter; I've never had this problem. EVER. Though I have heard of this happening; never did I expect for this to happen to us.. (not that I'm some higher form of a being as opposed to ticket-buyers)

My post was written for all the people who DID buy tickets in advance and was unfairly denied right-of-entry. I'm contemplating going into contractual agreements and right-of-priority agreements if I'm ever to do this again.

I'm very dissapointed in the way the things were handled that night. Event holders should hire a specialist with expertise in both the marketing and executional performances if an event so big as PvD @ The Roxy goes into a dramatic turn for the worse that REFUNDS HAD TO BE ISSUED TO PURCHASERS WHO BOUGHT ADVANCE TICKETS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RIGHT-OF-ENTRY.

Such an incident could have been easily avoided with the right marketing skills and advisement ship by a specialist. :hint:

Sincerely,
Neon Productions

I hope I won a free round trip around the Big Apple in a double-decker in the freezing winter weather. hahahaha, perhaps the Event Holder for last Friday's event can provide such a relief for the damamges they've caused? :wink wink:

OMG!

I was playing this song over and over again on the plane ride over to NYC. What a upfuckinglifting melody! So happy to hear it late in to the night. I was so fucking tired but that tune definitely pick my ass back up.

Loved it.

Running..............

Yeah, this track is so simple, yet, unbelievably driving and melodic. Granted the lyrics are a bit cheesey, but you got to keep a bit of "cheese" in your pocket for Paul...hehe

Quick story: I was standing right in front of Paul when he dropped this tune, and my instinct was just to start spinning and pointing at my water bottle....a few seconds later he looks at me, gives me a wink, and starts twirling his finger around the side of his head..yes, the man thought I was nuts...

I happened to swing over to Made Event's Website, to see if a statement was released by their Attorney or any type of Relief/Apologetic Statement was issued directly by them concering the PvD @ The Roxy Issue (11/11/05); besides the Refund Agreement. And this was stated:

"Made Event would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused. We did not sell more tickets nor have any more patrons in the venue than we've had at our previous PvD shows at the Roxy. Other shows, in fact where the Fire Department came and did not see a potential problem. If you notice on some of the message boards or on the review at Groovanauts.com, there are reports from people who attended stating that there was dancing room and that it was not as crowded as other events, or as Paul's last event at Crobar. To set the record straight; the Fire Department gave us permission to begin letting people in again after a little time had passed. As we were about to begin doing so, for reasons unbeknownst to us, the police instructed us to clear the street and not to let anymore people in for the rest of the night even though we were clearly way below capacity at that point.

Unfortunately this situation was out of our hands, and selling as many tickets as we normally do, we did not anticipate this problem. Again, our sincerest apologies. We acknowledge that the price of the refunded ticket does not take care of the disappointment, especially for people that traveled from afar. Needless to say this situation is completely unacceptable to us and we will be looking at ways to ensure that this never happens in the future.

Kind Regards,
Made"

My reponse to this is, per the statement by Made Events, NYPD is objectified as the "bad boy", - "unbeknownst" to Made Events why NYPD was failing to let people in. If a gullable being read this, it might sound like, "fine, fine, whatever." "Nothing we can do about that, I guess."

I, (personal opintion) do not know if I can really agree with this. If that was the case, why did the representatives of Made at The Roxy not fight against this "unknown reason" that NYPD was not letting people in? Clearly FDNY had authorized the staff of The Roxy to allow people to enter the premises. On what grounds, - on what charge were people not allowed into the club? If the amount of occupants had not exceeded what was stated in the maximum occupant agreement or whatever alias name it has, then clearly people are allowed to enter the premises UNITL that limit is on or about that FIGURE issued by the Property Clerk.

If Made Events and/or the Staff of The Roxy were not authorized to allow people to enter the premises on an "unbeknownest", that is an unacceptable reason and it is more than qualified to be challenged on-site, and possibly in court with the right representation.

Personally, this sounds more of discrimination against club-goers and the staff of a club, more than a legally just reason to dismantle an innocent club-goers intention of enjoying a night out in New York City to hear a superstar disc jockey play musical tunes.

- I am not holding a grudge that I was not allowed in, what I am holding is a dissatisfied view of how the situation was handled; - very unproffesional

I propose:

The Roxy Nightclub

vs.

NYPD aka New York Police Department

That's the one. 2 Faces.

Kinda cheezy, kinda predictable, but it works very well.

my opinion is this because sf (in 02) was the first time i saw him live. as far as 04 is concerned, i enjoyed roxy in feb and summerstage was great (dunno how much the overall experience with the rain and everything had to do with it though). it was after that that i thought he started to go downhill. from reading your posts over the past couple of years of gigs that we have both been too and sets we both enjoyed by him (i recall you saying that you really liked rosenmontags rave 02 if i remember correctly), i have felt that we were kinda on the same page. did you go friday? if you did i am curious to hear what you thought of it or if you have seen him lately either.

Same here man. SF was first time I saw him live as well back in 2002 when he even started playing the synths live on the keyboard(another way i think). Personally, I dont wanna rain on anybody's parade, but its just not the same for me. He pretty much went downhill since his Summerstage 04 set and his after party at Spirit. Ikon was garbage, Roxy was very ehhh the whole nite, Summerstage 05 was just wack after the first hour when it sort of looked like it could have peaked and blown up huge. Most ppl I talk about say his gig at Roxy this time was sick and great, but Im sure if I was there, it wouldnt have been anywhere close to being at the same level I have seen him play before. Again, I cant judge cause i missed out this time, but my guess is if I had gone, it wouldnt have been bad, but not as great as all the other times. I feel what u mean about the level of play though. For me, true PVD is not necessarily hard PVD, but a PVD that can PEAK. Last few times just havent done that, even if he played harder than usual. Just my .02.
