It's more or less just random 'popular' tunes that have zero flow...his mixing is so so, just seems like alot of breakdowns masking his mixing (if that makes sense)

He's not that bad, it's just that his ability as a DJ is nowhere near the caliber of what the club stands for. I give him credit for his love of the industry, and he is clearly having the time of his life when he DJ's...but that being said, I'm not paying $20 so he can have a good time and we all listen to a barrage of breakdowns for 3 hours. The difference from when Sean took over this past weekend was unbelievable, it was as if it was a totally different club, system and vibe in about 5 mins. I really feel it's gotten to the point where if Nevio wants to spin on a regular basis there, it should either be free or he takes some lessons from Sean.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Everyone knows that I love the club more than most people, but it's getting to a point now where my desire to go to the club isn't what it used to be because I know I'm either going to have to endure 3 hours of bad music or find something to do until 4am.

Sounds like this thread is taking a very different direction....it's almost a "What is Sonic going to do to keep us all there" thread...and it's a good question.

You all know how much I love the place, love the people, and support them every week (Chris and I have not missed a week since the opening)...but they just are not getting the numbers...in my humble opinion...to be successful in the long term.

I was told, in here, by someone calling himself "Big Boss", that changes were coming..have not seen anything yet!

The opening DJ is obviously a concern to many regulars...I think Graham said it best...

I still think they have to come to terms with the fact that in this town, we can see top international talent for $10.00 to $20.00, with a guest list system...at other clubs.

They need to make it easier and more resonable, for people to make last minute decisions to come to Sonic after the bars close, without it costing $30.00 or more...

I hope they can are reading and listening...I love that place so much. It is my second home...and will be for a very long time to come!

Aren't any of you SONIC devotees afraid of hurting co-owner Nevio's feelings with what you guys just wrote in this thread. My guess is that you guys want him to read this so he'll wake up and smell the coffee.

this past weekend was my frist time back at sonic on a regular nite since the opening. what i can say for niveos set: i enjoyed his track selections, and can appreciate the passion that he has for the industry and while he's up there spinning... but 3 hours of breakdowns into nothingness.... got a little repetitive. it seemed i was out on the patio more while wiating for miller to come on... then my night went down hill.. but that's completely unrelated to the Dj's or the Vibe from the place...
