Originally posted by Shamez214 I love the Nady for Berto/Perez trade. Nady was nothing special and not much better than Chavez/Edge will be and not even close defensively. Perez could easily turn it around. Remember, he's only 24. Good trade by Omar. This trade also further shows that Omar and company have the tightest lips of any teams front office. Omar got word of Dirty's accident at 2AM. If word got out, he would've had to give up a lot more to recieve relief help. |

He was regularly in the 97 mph range in 2004, but now often drops into the high 80s." At least his WHIP was good this year at 1.83. That's probably the worst whip on the planet. Sorry I'm not buying. Still, Nady isn't special anyway and Roberto H can be a decent middle guy to replace Dirty. I'm not saying that it wasn't a good trade. Just I think Perez is garbage and I'll stand by that. |

Pirates front office is a disgrace. The moves they make are mind boggling. Royals vs. Pirates for suckiest franchise... who wins?

Teams place every player on waivers to see if they pass through or not. If a team claims that player, he is just pulled back.
in the AL, 19 games over .500 doesn't win the wild card
18 games over is 2 game behind
meanwhile, in the NL wild card lead, 1 game under .500 is in 4th place, and 3 games under .500 is just 2.5 out of the wild card lead
the whole NL West is in the running, much like how it was in the NL East last year
thank you detroit

Who the hell said the pirates had the best ballpark in baseball? Lay off the crack.

I too have been to fenway, and I am from Chicago, although I am a white sox fan. I think the uncomfort level in fenway is vastly overblow, Im 6'1" 180 and I was fine. I realize the seats are not what most fans are used to, however I think people look far too much into it. Check out Wrigley though, right now you will only get have of the full potential of the place, seeing as how the cubs are a joke, but you'll still see why it is in my opinion and many others the best ballpark in baseball. The surrounding neighborhood is second to none, the atmosphere (when they aren't abysmal) feels like a college party. Its as much fun as you'll have at a park, however in your refrenced ESPN collumn and by a few other writers some feel it is too much of a side show and not "pure" baseball. That is why it gets hurt in the rankings. But as long as you don't like the smell of your own farts then that shouldn't be a factor.
comiskey park - great place. you never know who you're going to see at a white sox game. i was there on monday and ran into a mega celebrity, verndogs.
You must have a time machine, Comiskey park is long gone.
