Ohh the backyards.. my favourite sight was coming to my Nonnas house and going into the backyard in the summer and EVERYDAY my Nonno was sitting under the patio umbrella.. drinking Ginger Ale.. from the can.. with the tab sticking STRAIGHT UP... did ANY other Italians see this while growing up or was it just my family?!

As for the North and South business...
My family is from a little village in Calabria

I don't recall seeing them do that... but they did drink Mio and Brio.

Nope not really, I never grew up here, but not even in Italy.

Mine is from a village up north right next to the Swiss border.
