DA BEARSSSS

DA BEARSSS. I actually have something to be excited about with my NFL team lately! They've never had a bona fide QB but it's all looking up right now.

Posted by King Ecnal on Oct-09-2006 02:51:

I don't see one team that can throw down with the bears... in the NFC anyway...

maybe the Eagles...

Bears should cruise to the Super Bowl... unless something bad happens....

blaming daunte for everything.... yeah good luck with Joey... you'll see.... at least you have a chance to win with daunte.... Joey can't handle the pressure of the NFL...

he's not your TOM BRADY... the next Tom Brady is Rex Grossman... but he will only lead the bears to the dance... to be defeated by Brady and the boys...

in retrospect...

Brady > Marino > Grossman

oh King Lance spelled backwards you silly Boston bastahd....

apperently Daunte cant handle the pressure (of opposing defences ) much either, sure we all know its not entirely his fault, but if Joey Heisman can be involved in much less sacks, and he was solid today vs a good Pats team, why woudnt we want to see him more...Daunte had alot of chances to win against mostly crappy teams and coudnt and even his one win felt like a loss....

Great puntreturn for a TD by Bush today, Houston fans still trying to feel good about Mario Williams crappy 1 1/2 sacks last week vs the statue that is Culpepper are emo once again...
Gradkowski had a great game, be4 today he was just a 2nd stringer with a spleen to me.

skins lose...Kape-damn we re here for you (group hug)

DA BEARS made DA STONED SMITTY happy once again, and a stoned happy smitty is cool in all our books.
And My weekly thanks to Butters for dropping Rex and me enjoying him now heh

Go Rams

of the day was when i checked the score well into the Colts game and they were still losing 10-0 to the Titans, good to see Reggie Wayne (from da U) catch the game winning TD after his brother died this week.

The Cardinals almost pulled out a big one at the Pink Taco, but it went premature as neil Rackers coudnt aim it between the Pink Taco goalposts

looked like a great game between Cowboys vs Eagles, T.O was bashing the O-Line and some coaches , what else is new...if he should yelling at anybody it should be at his dumb publicist
nice TD run by Bledsoe though, havnt seen him run at all in a long time.
But yeah McNabb and the Eagles owned T.O today, does T.O regret being such an ass now?
next question!

J-E-T-S suck suck suck
Ben would normally get offended by this but they lost to the Jags so its all good

San Diego...Super Chargers!

Cheese Doodles !

you know you're right.

let's put in the QB who can never convert 3rd downs.. and gets sacked so much we're constantly 2nd and 30.

give me a break. i'm being sarcastic.

not after sundays preformane against the giants

and drew and the cowboys oline need to get things in order, what's with throwing into the endzone for a TD when on 2 plays both wideouts where open because every eagle collapsed into the endzone. a true definition out all the TO talk woulda been to give him the ball as a wideout and let him run it in, he'd only have to beat 2 defenders at max if he says he is as good as he or everyone says he is

THANK YOU!!!

its DAUNTE.... Joey may not get sacked... but its PICK city with him... last time I checked... taking a sack, is better than throwing the ball to a defender, for a turnover... ok?

You know, I shouldn't be surprised, we are talking about dolphin fans here... I guess you guys don't expect much... so thats why you want Joey...?

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Oct-09-2006 18:30:

i think what's really missing from this whole miami team is chemistry. we have to remember that we are talking about 2 new quarterbacks and a NEW offensive coordinator. Norv Turner was with Miami as their offensive coordinator for a couple of years. Now he is with the Alex Smith project in San Francisco. Washington is struggling right now, because Al Saunders just entered as their offensive coordinator. They need to get meshed into his type of system. It is a little bit of everything, from mediocre quarterback play to a new system to inefficiency to an average offensive line.

in my opinion, daunte got so used to having randy moss (and cris carter back in the day) throwing the ball to, and when moss and carter got stripped away from him, he couldn't handle the situation. also another factor is bill simmon's running backs theory. i read his theory on running quarterbacks and his comparisons, and he is right on the money! i think no matter how bad the dolphins are "offensively", they should stick with joey harrington, because i feel he fits better in saban's conventional system.

Posted by Member of X on Oct-09-2006 19:10:

Ducks alumni and I think Joey Heisman sucks. Yeah Daunte has been playing pretty piss poor (no surprise to me really he sucked last year before getting hurt with Minny). People tend to forget that point. 6 Td's and 12 Int's before getting hurt. That's not good.

Joey makes wayyy too many bad decisions. His personality doesn't exactly inspire confidence in his teammates either. But for my sake, why not give it a chance I guess, Daunte isn't getting it done either. That I don't fault, the attempt to try.

Bears Super Bowl.... maybe but remember last year when the Colts were supposed to go undefeated blah blah blah. It's whose hot at the end of the season.

Rams in first place!!!!!!!!!! King Lance, sorry they don't suck. They barely win and are lucky but they don't suck. Linehan much more conservative approach squeeeeeeeeeeks out victories. Still not too confident though.

Our season is already pretty much fucked so why should we continue starting a guy who coudnt beat 3 crappy teams whos only wins have come against us.
Last I checked Joey played against a tough Pats team and did aight. This is more than just Daunte Vs Joey whos better, the fact is our offence has underachieved so much that we just have to put out there the best QB that can make our offence tick a bit more.
And Saban did what I thought he should, he named Joey the starter for next week and maybe more till Daunte get healthier and in game speed again.
You guys are basicly making me and melly repeat ourselves over and over again lol
anyways the only reason Lance is supporting Daunte is cause he's on his fantasy team

+1

the first turn over I agree was a mistake by Joey but the guy was getting under covered and took the ball. Bleh

the 2nd Turnover could have happened to anyone. If Welkers elbow wouldn't have been in the way then it couldnt have ricocheted.

After 4 games how much more can we expect from Daunte?? He's bashed by anyone and everyone on sportscenter . Joey has time to learn and grow especially with the bye week coming up.

TY Saban

I agree w/ Member of X both QB's can't get anything done. But he only played one game. I say i'm glad Joey will be starting next week to possibly give us a lil more hope then we have now

Your pole might be better than my 2nd string.

He did good pre season

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Oct-10-2006 01:53:

The "Yucs" now have a decent chance, after Gradkowski's decent performance against the Saints. Then again, we are talking about a Saints secondary that really hasn't been tested as of yet. They were somewhat beaten against Green Bay and Brett Favre, until the saints started to pour points on them. I think the Bucs should stick with Gradkowski for the rest of the season, because he did what Simms could not do .... score touchdowns. and he was a pretty good quarterback at Toledo. He was completeing 70% of his passes, which is pretty good.

Posted by King Ecnal on Oct-10-2006 03:06:

Simms career has to be over... or find a new team...

yeah he also has the second best passer rating at 107.00

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Oct-10-2006 23:35:

I will try to do this every Tuesday.

Butters' Coca Cola League Poll (where 1 is the worst of the worst and 10 is the best of the worst) (as of 10.10.2006)

A lot of tough games to swallow for these 10 teams. They should have won their respective games, if they had that extra edge on their teams. So here's the list :

1. Oakland Raiders( LW : 1 ) - Oakland looked horrible against the 49ers. They got desperate, and now Marques Tuiasosopo logged some minutes. 9 pass attempts, 2 interceptions. Not good. They may need to bring back Jay Schroeder to handle the quarterback position, and Nick Bell to handle the running back position.

2. Detroit Lions( LW : 4 ) - They played 3 good quarters, and then the 4th quarter came, and just gave it to the Vikings. What was Kitna thinking when he threw those interceptions ? Anyways, the reason why i dropped them from 4 to 2, because the way they played against the Vikings. 42 pass attempts, 11 rushing attempts ? that is not going to win you football games Mikey Martz . Havent you learned anything during your rollercoaster days at St Louis ? Apparantly not.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers( LW : 3 ) - Tough game for the Bucs. I see them having a bright future with Gradkowski. He throws the ball with zip, has accuracy, and can actually throw a timing pattern. Something Simms couldn't get down with when he had the ball. Cadillac looked like an Oldsmobile against the Saints, and the defense did all they could to stop the saints from scoring. A defense can only do so much. An offense needs to contribute something .

4. Tennessee Titans( LW : 2 ) - Tough game for the Titans. Valiant effort by their crew by playing teeth and bones with one of the favorites in the AFC. They knew what to expose when playing against the Colts, and followed textbook football to try the upset. Unfortunately, it was too little too late. I don't think Jeff Fisher should leave after this year. I think he should right this ship into the right direction during this rebuilding phase.

5. Miami Dolphins( LW : 5 ) - Tough game for the Phins. Played the Patriots very good defensively, just not there offensively. A lot of issues in certain areas in the offense they need to fix during this season, because this does not look like a playoff calibar team at the moment. A lot of disappointments in many faces, including me. I felt this team was capable of making a run at the playoffs this year.

6. Houston Texans( LW : 6 ) - They had a bye, so i can't bump this team up or down. David Carr still leads the AFC in passing rating, which is the good news. The bad news is that they got the Cowboys, Jaguars, Titans, Giants, Jaguars, and Bills before Thanksgiving. Nothing good to show for there. Kudos for Kubiak for actually trying with this team.

7. Green Bay Packers( LW : 7 ) - Tough game for the Packs. They had a chance against the Rams to pull the upset. A lot of people are calling for Ahmen Green to come out clean, because he isn't trying this year to make a statement for himself. Everyone knows this isn't a very good team, and everyone should try to give it their all, even though things don't look too good. I credit Favre for not quitting at the moment, however I still think he should retire, and give the helm to Rodgers. The more he prolongs his retirement, the more he puts his team in jeopardy in the future.

8. Arizona Cardinals( LW : 9 ) - Matt Leinert turned the smoking hot desert into sunnyside shores with his excellent play against a tough chiefs team. this team has potential, but has hit a snag with Fitzgerald's injury. Hopefully Bethel Johnson can step up into the #2 role. And to the haters that say Edge isn't trying, just think about their offensive line.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers( LW : NR ) - Why did they enter into my top 10 ? They just look awful right now. they're 1-3, chicken broth has 0 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, and have absolutely no running game. their defense looks very tired every week, and just don't have that spunk anymore. this team isn't going anywhere this year. I am sorry. i don't know who they miss more, jerome bettis, or randel el ?

10. Cleveland Browns( LW : 10 ) - boy that was a tough game to swallow against the panthers. they should have taken that game from them when they had the chance. northcutt's muff and the interception by marshall was plain pathetic. haha. i feel sorry for romeo. this team has a lot of potential on paper, but isn't putting it out on the field. Kudos to kellen winslow for his effort. my main candidate at the moment for comeback player of the year (and also rookie of the year, if the nfl follows mlb standards .. haha)

Honorable Mention : Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets

I have to hand it to tampa, they have found new and exciting ways to lose.Between the carolina game and the saints game(which i never knew in football within 5 yards you can get called for a moving pick) they have found new ways to pick up penalties at the worst times.Boy i can't wait to be in Raymond hjames stadium sunday and watch the bengals throw all over this aging unmotivated defense.which seem to not be playing well at all since d. line coach marinelli left and db coach Mike Tomlin moved on to new jobs.
