get better jenn!
Basically the ppl made my night imo. dannie, drew and i drove down and got in pretty quickly w/ no trouble. this was my first experience at the guv complex as an edm event and obviously my first LOL. i was blown away by how big it rlly is when it's all access. i think i was slightly overwhelmed by the whole thing at first and so i wasn't rlly enjoying myself. as much as i wanted to just dance and enjoy the music, i found it extremely hard w/ the heat and lack of space. i couldnt get into armin's set =(. it was nice to see everyone altho hard to socialize in that environment =P lots of hugs and smiles and new faces. it'll probably take me a few times to remember everyone's names. as usual i thoroughly enjoyed the presence of the ta's, everyone was so welcoming and it was awesome to have random ppl come up and introduce themselves =). eventually we moved outside to the tent to catch some air. then comes the highlight of my night(jamie is going to kill me)... alex, jay and i made our way to the drink and although i can't do dnb for too long i had a blast... the energy in there kept me moving. we then moved to the gallery where i wasn't overly impressed but enjoyed myself none the less. didn't catch much of jxl's set so i can't rlly judge. buttt ferry was alright. i'm sure i would have enjoyed his set more so if i wasn't so tired by the time ppl cleared out and there was space to dance =P! also it seemed as though his set was beginning to pick up just as alex, christy and i were leaving =(
anywhooo thanks times a thousand to everyone who MADE my night... you all know who you are =) good conversations and goodtimes all around!... although i don't think LOL is my kinda thing (i prefer much more intimate settings)... this was definitely an experience. the end!
I need confirmation on this guys...did Armin play this last nite or am I just imagining it
4 Strings - Mainline (4 Turntables Remix)
Got at Guv around 10ish. Was surprised to see the place well populated.
Toured around the complex for a bit.
Skybar was a nice place to begin. Met some fellow Armin fans and chated for a bit. Nice POLKA DOTS
Koolhaus was really full by 11
Found pleanty of room on the rear stage to dance when Armin took over the decks.
Armins set was realy enjoyable, just like ASoT
Opening track of Pink Floyd the Wall was a nice choice for an opening track
Amnesia Brothers feat. Jennifer Rene - Louder
Alex M.O.R.P.H. vs Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary
Aalto - 5 - Thanks Armin
Solar Stone- Seven Cities - nice closing track
Junkie XL was like deja vu from Easter 2004
Opening with Junkie XL- Red Pill, Blue Pill, same hat, great style
Coldplay - Talk (Junkie XL remix) was just not loud enough..
Ferry Corsten was well worth the wait.
Nice flow, enjoyable tracks.
Ferry Corsten feat. Simon Le Bon - Fire
Alex M.O.R.P.H. vs Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary
FB feat. Edun - Who's knocking (Ferry's fix)
Had a great time, LOL2006 was a success...

Sick! Sick! Sick!
In all honesty folks I think last night was the perfect guvernment party.
Tunes were absolutely top notch everywhere you went. Whatever type of vibe you wanted it was there in good force.
The guvernment outdid themselves again with decorations and decor, setup in the koolhaus was the best yet. Fireworks on the skybar added a very nice touch to the evening.
Armins set was hands down better than decadence, and although it was a bit too soft for me at times, it was solid from beginning to finish, and very fitting for the time of night he was playing.
Diggers was truly an awesome experience. As soon as I walked into the guv and he was playing Pete Heller-Simpler I knew it was going to be a shitshow.I can't yet quite believe that he didn't play 1983 after teasing it for the entire set. He had me right fucked up. I was then convinced that even in the kool haus ferry corsten was going to drop 1983, until Justin slapped me in the face and i regained my senses and said "no you idiot he's not playing that song that was the other dj"
Ferry's closing set was very well done. He takes the cake for me as the best trance dj for closing a party, when he starts pulling out all his old productions and classic tunes the vibe really gets a rockin!
Highlights for me were Jamming to Pete Heller-Simpler on the stairs at the beginning of diggers, and binary finary-1998 from ferry's closing set. When the kool haus empties out at the end of the party, and there's room to move around and everyone who's left is just having bojangles good times is a vibe that can't be beat in my opinion.
Well done.
