He says it so himself!!! http://www.marcvanlinden.com/eng/index.html (click playlists, first two playlists track 10, track 4)

Thanks for the ID on Track 01, now if someone could ID Track 07... that would be sweet!

Posted by shades_of_gray on Sep-11-2006 17:27:

Track 12 sounds like some sort of Randy Katana production, or it could be anything upcoming on the Reset, Liquid or Spinnin' label.

Fixed it up a bit. There's also a (pretty awful) tune between Understand and Awakening.

Not a bad set this. Chris plays trance in a good way, driving, flowing tracks providing tension, and placing breakdowns carefully to provide release. Props to him for going through with that at a festival that's clearly catering to the pop trance ignoramus-massive. That Bio-tune is a bit of a belter also.

Thumbs down for a few crass and rather embarrassing tunes that just stick out like a sore thumb.

13. Mr. Sam - Polar Dome
14. DJ Atmospherik - Straight Flush (Nibor Rmx)
15. Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel (Marc van Linden Rework)

great playlist (the new tracks), great set. Hope this second sun track has this awesome climax in it naturally. Or paul's using another ableton effect which would hard to figure out.

Never the less couldn't understand the people here who are making/posting tracklists of pvd and are always complaining about him, the way he's spinning, or the tracks he plays.
He's unique (his producing, his spinning, his trackselection (ok often the same ), his styles (from trance, progressive trance, tech trance, acid trance to progressive house, tech house, electro house, acid house, vocal house, pop house...).
where do u get so much variety. not even tiesto, avb etc do it in one set.

And abelton: it's not as easy as it sounds. try it and u will find how difficult it is to reproduce or make it even better. there are up to 10 parameters for each effect and I don't know how he makes it apart from this filters and echoes u can clearly hear). ok beatmatching is very simple but u will need the time to edit/remix/program live the tracks respectively to do such a live performance.
So take a look behind the scenes and then comment!

The near future is one without vinyls (as u could see eg. @ nature one where the big djs spun there tracks (inclusive the old ones) more with the cdj's and computers. It going more and more to a live (remix/edit) performance. Markus Schulz, A. Bennet, Avb... told me all the same - the weight and space of the records & the evolution of the technology is the point.
Ok and obviously the price (8-10 for vinyl, 0,99 - 1,29 for a high quality file)

Posted by sherifyosti on Sep-13-2006 17:57:

U say that "the weight and space of the records & the evolution of the technology is the point"this's definitly right. So u means that the leader Mr. Pvd may beat any one from his way but repeating the same classic populer tracks can be usually bored for many people. So refreshing & updating is better than that meaning
new production.I think that also which help Pvd is his historican production , but now become less. And then his great incrdiable old sets are deeply digged in our memories e.g Energy ,Trance Energy,Ibiza ,Nature One .Remember his strike (energizer) his full radioactivety ,while the LEADER is fighting to be No.1 in the past years ,yes really gr8888 work & highest performance but may be changes his style why i don't know which ervery track he played omb us.But now i can't think that if he really want to still No.1 (if e wants 4 next years)he must do his best in every place not in certain places only which can effict him baaaaadly & in the end don't miss AVB (reaching top easy but dificult in staying)

Posted by T4M on Sep-13-2006 20:00:

I don't think PvD played Eteson & Spencer - Atlantic. It sounds more like a remix of Activa (Solar Movement) - Under The Sun.

Posted by Mark van Rick on Sep-13-2006 20:08:

ok in some points I agree with u, but I think he don't want to be the leader or claims to be no1 for himself and I don't see him as "the leader" but like an idol just as AvB, Ferry Corsten, etc.. They are on there own way unique, because they are individual and have there own style

that much variety does not equal quality.

that's your opinion or define quality. it's just objective
