Fat Boy Slim @ Manumission Ibiza, Spain. My first EDM party ever. Sept 2004?

wow... repeat post much? sorry

Posted by djbruuen on Jun-02-2008 06:10:

ian van dahl in like 2001 haha...

but first REAL edm dj and first time at a real club was Marco V @ GUV in 2003 i remember mark oliver was playing some sweet trance that night, so definitely set a great clubbing tone. i also remember both djs playing different remixes of coldplay clocks (marco obviously playing his remix)

Armin and Junkie XL. "Blue Pill Red Pill" owned that night.

-1st clubs ('90): Michael Meacham @ the Fifth Column & Tracks (he was DC's version of Mark Oliver)
-1st warehouse party ('91): Quadrophonia (Lucien Foort's production/'band')- no supporting DJ's, their set didn't even last 15-30 mins, lol.
-1st rave ('92): Scott Henry (DC), Jimmy Crash (NY), Frankie Bones (NY), Adam X (NY)
-1st major DJ @ a club: Moby @ the Fifth Column (DC), 2002

Sasha @ Aria, Montreal in 2003.

I didn't even know who the hell he was at that time. I was actually there in the hip hop room upstairs and wandered downstairs to see what it was all about and from there I was hooked.

Thats a great thing - being a noob !!! I wish I felt the same way about EDM I did six years ago. I have a hard time dancing the way I used to back when I was a noob noob is good.

Pete Tong, Boy George, LTJ Bukem and Jeremy Healy at the Cream (the original, which started off Cream in Ibiza) in Liverpool. 1996! lol

I was 17 and I'd been clubbing before a couple of times, but my big raver sister talked about this club called the Cream all the time. It was crazy... drag queens walking around, people dressed up in wigs and quirky clubby outfits and fortunately a lot of normal people from all over the UK.. You could buy ice cream in there and the place was HUGE with loads of rooms. I was hooked...

My first was at Sona, circa 1998-1999. I think it was the monthly David Morales night!

I was 17 and had never seen anything like it in my life. Walked out at around 1pm and i was hooked ever since

GT's eh Tygon and Platipus??

This party was insane, easily one of my favorites, I didn't go to the Hulla that was put on there a few weeks later but I think that was the last party thrown at that venue.

My first was Destiny 28 at that old film warehouse under near the Toshiba sign. Hardfloor and one of the Liberator brothers was playing

we later found out that Hardfloor didn't show up and they just played a DAT tape of one of their sets, still a great night

Anyone else hit up the science center parties?? now THOSE were insane!

^5. First time I ever met you (though we never really talked I dont think... you and Drew were aliens to me back then

What a 2nd party LK!

Posted by Jem_hadar on Jun-03-2008 13:48:

Well, Id been going summer rushes, partymanias, euro-freestyle invasions, etc. since late 90s; to euro (gino) clubs like Plastique or Plazzo (sp) since 99 and early 2000s; and to purple room since 2000.

But in my mind i dont think i would count any of those as my "first party."

I could my frist party, i guess, as the time i road tripped from waterloo to kool haus specifically to see Mauro Picotto and Sven vath back in 03 with a couple buddies.

Deko-ze opened, and did a fine job that night. was also the first time i ever saw deko-ze, though i wasnt "wowed" with like i would become in later years.
