i'm favouring da hool slightly out of that list

Posted by Takkra on Jun-11-2008 16:20:

^ I didn't make up my mind yet, those are just songs that came to my head when I thought of 'what kind of remixes would get attention from many DJ's'.
(btw, I don't know if eldritch agrees with this, since he should actually pick the song according to the rules).

^ps. look at the dutch producers in here

Posted by Spliph on Jun-11-2008 16:29:

im dutch, but located in chicago now

ok, eldritch, pick da song...then we'll find the midi's and samples and whatnot....

Posted by isoterra on Jun-11-2008 22:39:

heh, i'm not dutch. i'm just supporting them in the euros

And the football team of course.

Anyhoo,

Although stated tracks are classics, I hope that there will be a more decent and newer track with more depth to remix than the stated tracks. It's to the last year's winner to pick one.. don't influence him with classics. There are no SvD's here to make a worthful mindblowing classic remix.

Posted by Takkra on Jun-19-2008 12:36:

Maybe no SvD's but I'm pretty sure a lot of talented people here can make awesome remixes of those tracks wouldn't it be cool just to hear a 2008 of such a theme when your out on the floor? Everyone goes 'woooooo' already before the beat comes in. I don't really care though, they were just nice ideas that came to mind, that would really get picked up It'll be the first time a track from TA would end up in the hitparade we'd be selling tshirts with
I(hart)TA People like tiesto and svd would start lurking on this board to spot new talent lalalala

Posted by Takkra on Jun-25-2008 13:41:

...someone has to step up and hijack this topic from eldritch.

Posted by PDM on Jun-27-2008 09:45:

So who is organizing the compo? I'm still up for it, but I see Takkra and Isoterra willing to give it a go, I'm blocked music wise at the moment, that is why I wanted to organize it instead of participating as a remixer.

Cheers

Posted by Mr Kre8 on Jun-27-2008 11:37:

I just want to participate in something that'll get the creative juices flowing again. I've been pretty stuck with ideas for a while now.

Posted by 3F05Q on Jun-27-2008 16:29:

So... who's tried to get ahold of Eldritch and have him pick a song so that someone else can run the show?

Posted by Eldritch on Jun-30-2008 03:59:

I'm preparing the competition. Unfortunately I haven't been able to come up with a suitable prize. But, is it really necessary? What do you think?
I haven't decided on which track yet.

Posted by Spliph on Jun-30-2008 04:04:

prize not necessary i don't think..or it could be something little... what has been done in the past? pick thy song

Sweet dude.. I'm gonna try to nab that number 1 spot you rightfully took from me!!! Bwahaha! ... wait... there's no need for riotous evil laughter. Nevermind that.

Dude... drop some e-mails to some DJ's that have regular shows and see if they'll at least give the winning song some consideration for play. You never know. Send out about 10 emails and see if you get any bites.

Might I recommend a classical piece? Something emotional/epic? Just a thought. Look around and search for some existing remix competitions as well... no reason we can't give an already organized one a go but have our own judges. Just some thoughts for ya.

Good to see you're still around.

I suggest the Imperial Death March

Well, I won a free online mastering (I never heard from them though).
I'll see what I can do.

I've been thinking of choosing P.O.S - "Remember (Summer Sun)". It's one of my favorites. The melody is fairly basic so there's lots of remix possibilities.

Yeh a track like that is great for the remix competition.
Would be awesome if you could arrange the vocal

Never got the prize? it sucks when that happens, Ricky M had won an Ableton Live copy and it got lost in the mail.
And I lost the money to send it. *Still crying over it*.

I don't think there is a need for a prize, that is something that I introduced just as a bonus but is not a requirement, just the fact of being one the winners of the prestigious tranceaddict.com remix competition is a prize by itself.

Posted by Spliph on Jul-04-2008 17:34:

what prestige of tranceaddict are we talking about paulo?

Posted by PDM on Jul-13-2008 03:38:

Think about it brotha! we've seen quite a few producers that used to be regular posters here, making it happen in the music industry, tranceaddict.com and the other one are the only true trance sites for trance music producers and fans alike. Winning an official competition in this place is really something. I think if we can have the admistrator feature the remix winner in the main page, would make up for any prize.
