btw, what's the best way to get to the place? i.e., where do we park the car? should we look for a garage (expensive) or park somewhere else and take the subway?

You're best bet would be to take the subway if you live in the boroughs, parking will be about $15 for each day. We drove last year and regretted doing so, cuz it's such a hassle getting out of the city, but then again i'm not TOO familiar with driving there. We'll be taking the train in from CT, cya there.

P.S. does anyone think they'll let people bring water balloons in??

Well, I've attended every PvD CP event ever since the first one. After last one I decided not to go anymore. Ever since PvD went to Ableton his sets have lost the "organic" feel they used to have before. His track selection was always spot-on and I felt Appleton Live sets were not just lacking in feeling but also it took away from the "tracks" (erm, 30 second snippets of tracks) that Paul was throwing down. Dunno, imho it ruins the overall experience.

Besides, his NY sets nearly ALWAYS tend to be dark and techy - which SUCKS! Oh well, I guess I have to finally realize that Paul went into a different direction and my taste remained the same. Shame, rly.

Those who go, enjoy yourselves! This old PvD fan is surrendering his "PvD whore club" membership. Sad, rly.

Why is everyone all about the rain for this weekend? I think I remember something about it raining at one of his shows a couple of years ago.

Is there a fun story that goes along with the rain?

privetiki i dobro pozhalovat' na TA Lenchik.

well... no fun story. everyone got soaked. whoever could find hide out under tents, hid there. the rest were standing in torrenchial rain. it soaked everyone down to the bone, non-stop for 3+ hours. it was so wet, I think even my plastic driver's license got soggy. Wet jeans + dancing = baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadd idea. I was chaffed like mofo, not to mention my undies kept crawling up my arse for worst wedgie.

Fun? Hardly. The only plus to the whole ordeal - free wet t-shirt contest. Bunch of chix forgot to wear braz that day. Shy ones didn't dance much. Just stood there cross-armed, covering the itty-bitties. The stoned ones didn't care - let them flap in the rain to our amusement.

Perhaps to those wasted on x, rain was a blessing, the rest I think would agree it sucked. BTW, my $300 phone started flaking up and died shortly thereafter I think due to being soaked.

but... I guess it's the practical and physically-aware part of me that's complaining.

^^ oh true, no jeans if its might rain, good reminder!

well iono, it was probably one of the most awesome times and greatest sets i heard from him -- straight sober. in fact the rain deterred me from even thinking or wanting to do anything besides just enjoying the event at hand just from pure adrenaline itself. We almost lost our Spirit tickets tho cuz they got wet. I tired myself from dancing to the point where i was practically half-asleep at the afterparty but it just seemed so boring (and *HOT* like hell) compared to the experience I had just had that day. i love dancing in a downpour

also i dont remember any tents unless u meant for the concession stands.

barring the complaints of aNYthing, pvd played a monster set that year that matched the intensity of the rain coming down.

agreeing with the insightful and accurate observations of aNYthing (which may tickle few sensitive babies' bottoms wrong way), pvd played a sucky set that year that exceeded the combined suction PSI power of all the hookers in NYC together with all the vacuums in the Tri-state area ten-fold.

I know that this is what you really meant to say, so I fixed it for you.

Find street parking but read the signs. You'll be paying a lot more than $15 for a garage. As far as the subway, it all depends on where you park.

Backpacks - yes
Beverages - no. They'll throw them out when they frisk you and check your bag, even if it's a sealed bottle of water. Your best bet is to drink on the line before going in.

I dont know if it has been mentioned but according to Ashley Tomberlin's myspace page. She is going to be at central park both nights.
