Headlined. Same stage I saw NIN on back when they headlined in 2009. He played opposite of the Foo Fighters and I believe there were more people there for him than Foo Fighters, which is ironic, because I remember some years ago, Dave Grohl knocked on DJs.

this is funny, watch at 5:05 for talk about Foo Fighters... apparently at some other festival shows deadmouse was also playing with FF at the same time and FF had to stop a song because the sound was bleeding so bad from the other stage lol
