just a few updates.

Chicago River, Sept 06 2008, 2:20AM.
28 shots, full-size is 65 megapixels.

going home, just got in a cab

20-shot pano taken during a period of 4 minutes, hand-held in -1 F weather (with a -21 wind chill). It was the coldest I've ever shot in; towards the end the shutter release button (I am assuming it was the button and not something else) started getting stuck and it was firing off successively until the buffer ran out. Annoying.

I had gloves on but by the end (shot for about 5 more minutes after this sequence) my fingertips felt like they were frozen. Damn this is cold. Tomorrow night it's supposed to hit -14.

Not sure what the sky is doing but that's how it looked.

The full-size is around 85 megapixels. I wanted a purplish tinge.

Possibly the coolest pic I have ever seen.

Delobbo, that third one is fucking gorgeous. Which lens do you use again? 16-35 L or 24-105 L?

Posted by Rasidel Slika on Feb-07-2009 02:16:

hey bud that was with the 24-70 2.8.

and, along with the tangent of this thread, here is the best footage of Vegas' snow you'll ever see.. taken with a 5DMK2.

you can never get used to winter up in chicago. every year it sucks, no matter what. and you can't wait for it to be over with.

Snow melted today I feel so rejuvenated by this sunshine. Sick photos.

that blizzard in 99 was pretty rough. although i was in high school, so it was fun as a kid. LOL.

winter totally sucks balls when you are an adult and have to deal with it.

Posted by Rasidel Slika on Feb-07-2009 20:55:

i dont remember a blizzard in 99... all I remember is I got my first "real" job and the Ferry Corsten live at Innercity '99 cd.

BUMP!

Finally found this thread again.

Ok, so I think I'm going to buy the Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens.

Thoughts? I'll be using it with a 50D body.

I was previously thinking of getting a 5d (mk 1) body, and getting a proper L wide angle, but.... just can't justify the expense. I hardly ever do any wide angle photography.

It seems to get pretty awesome reviews - Any of you guys ever used one?

When i use the d50 i usually try to rock out the 1-over9000mm lense. It works great for seeing dark matter, supernovas and even aborted fetuses.

I must admit, the camera on my iphone works just as good, but the canon with the great lense is a little smaller than the iphone. I suggest you stab someone and let them decide for you.

Interesting. Do you manage to get good shots of the rodents while you're fucking them?
