the average person (especially who isn't into cooking) just gets already prepared shit, and popping something in the oven or in a pan and "cooking" it requires no skill at all.

the only shortcut i used with my stuffed peppers was the uncle ben's rice that you just boil in the bag. everything else was fresh and i was really excited about it.

and like u are one to talk about what is fancy or not jay. u used to be a chef for christ sake so naturally something like greek style stuffed peppers is like having pizza hut to you

i'm no top chef material, but i'm definitely above average in the kitchen and for some reason i ALWAYS fuck up rice when i cook it conventionally in a saucepan lol i keep saying i'm going to get a rice cooker and i just don't get around to it ever. the rice bags are fine for now though. i do more pasta than rice anyway so whatever.

i used to not be a fan of blue cheese until one day a friend of mine had a big bbq and went to a place similar to whole foods and bought a gigantic filet mignon...like the whole fucking piece and threw it on the grill and topped it with a blue cheese concoction that i still use today on a lot of stuff.

crumbled blue cheese
mayo
worstershire
fresh garlic

put a big glob of that on a filet mignon...

i usually dont put anything on my steaks...especially a ribeye. but i wanted to try the blue cheese thing and it was fucking bomb. generally speaking though, i like steaks plain.

i love heinz 57 sauce but i only put it on like crappy strip steaks or something i buy at the grocery store on sale
