This is why so many people are impressed with him. He's detail oriented, understands the game on the level of a popovic [I refuse to put the 'h' on his name, he's a slav, goddammit!!], sloan, riley, of jackson. Read about his achievements, it'll take you like 5 mins just to get through them. For someone never to have coached in the NBA, he's pretty much done everything else. Guys like this will never be assistant coaches simply because they can't 'coddle' their players like the NBA too often does. Sam himself had to learn that on-the-job, and the coaches I mentioned above often times don't. |
I can't take it anymore. Blow this team up already. B-R-U-T-A-L. Trade Bosh too.

ugh. honestly. put some fucking effort into the games....this is just pathetic. they aren't even competing.
The single worst part about watching Raptors ball, and what turns me off from watching, has nothing to with the actual game, it is the commenting. The guys they get for the raps, just suck balls.
There is no steady build of urgency in their voices, and they go crazy over the smallest plays. Typical Canadian commentators, trying to fill the void of US broadcasting.
I wish Marv Albert could call every game.
Where has Chris Bosh gone? He looks like he could care less anymore...he's essentially been non-existent these last 4-5 games.
This is what I think about when I see games like these:

Andrea Bargnani was the biggest mistake ever. He has no value now. I bet you couldn't even trade his ass for a 2nd round draft pick.
We could've had Brandon Roy instead ![]()
Hubie Brown was one of the guys I was thinking about. There's one in Boston or L.A...fuk, I can't remember.
I think Bosh is frustrated with sometimes being the only guy on the court busting his ass on every play. I don't know if the change to Triano is *that* big of a deal...but I do think he's challenging the rest of the team to step up with a "if you guys don't try, why the fuck should I" demeanour and maybe challenging the GM to make something happen too.
if that's true, it sure worked last night, lol. Kapono was stellar, Jermaine played with a chip on his shoulder, Moon showed flashes of what he brought to the team last year, and Jose's double double + setting the franchise record for consecutive FT = forgetting about TJ (and his 4 points) for a while.
Let's see if they carry that energy forward against Jersey and smack down Carter this time :\

We better beat the nets after that embarassing lost few weeks ago.

Vince Carter...0 for 13 and -32 on the night as the Raps smoke the Nets.
omg, that was fun to watch, haha.
they won, but with big gaps in important areas of the game.
The plugged the paint, but they're still giving up the outside. Still getting out rebounded. And the switches are aweful, JO cannot be left on any point guard. Any team with good shooters and ball movement is gonna kill us.
perimeter D is still a major issue. a LOT of open looks were given up with the Nets just having a terrible shooting night.
It was nice to see the Raps driving to the basket instead of settling for shit shots...and Kapono is playing with an energy that is awesome. His pull up three is something to watch...smooooth. Calderon's D was MUCH improved this game too.
hopefully this win at least motivates the team after some tough loses. Raps still need to make a move if this lineup doesn't gel. Bosh and JO are still not on the same page. They should be owning the boards!

I wonder if the Raps can somehow swing a trade to get Thomas for next to nothing...maybe a pick from next years draft and one of their swingmen? For some reason I think he'd fit in well here coming off the bench. He has that athleticism that the team so desperately needs.
