I have sent my work to Sagy.

now I want to know how will be the method to listen to all the remixes and submit votes, and of course I'd like to listen to every remix on this competition.

cheers!

Hey everyone cheers for all the remixers!

I figured opening a temporary myspace account would be the best option we have, if anyone knows of a better option please post it up or send me an email or a PM regarding it, though i think the myspace player quality has improved drastically.

Cheers, Sagy.

Is this for the voting stage?

Remember myspace player only holds 6 tracks...unless theres only 6 or less entries!

Just sent you a link to my remix Sagy.

I'm not happy with the mixdown or mastering guys, so if you hear a poorly mastered one in the last 5 then its probably mine lol!

Fuck it, it's all for fun anyway.

I saw that somebody used an embedded flash player to post a track on the forum. That, in conjunction with a poll could also work.

Posted by Vortex_SA on Jan-07-2009 23:33:

Storyteller - i got some webspace too but can you do safe streaming through your space? cos when it comes to it im pretty clueless...

Theran - same question again, was it safe? what method did he use?

due time almost over BTW, thanks for everyone again!

I think you're being a bit overcautious . A lot of flash players are unsafe. Mine uses xml which is tracable, virtually any flash mp3 player works this way unfortunately (even those on myspace, you can track the files if you're good). Just use 128 kbps mp3 with intro/outro cut off and some anti-rip measures such as a voice over perhaps?

And if they really would want the track the could just re-record it. Anti-rip measures would be your best bet and it would enable people to just download the final 5 .

Have they been chosen yet?

yeah, i think this is the best option.

vortex_sa, i'm more concerned about the voting process. any anti-fraud method you and 405 recordings thought of?

not yet mate

its a tough call!

anyway, anti-rip measurments like 128 kbps quality and voice over and such sounds the same to me as putting the tracks on myspace, dont you think? and i want this to be user friendly and i think downloading a package is a bit of a hassle for the regular user who just want to vote easy and safe...

really? has there been many cases of tempered polls around ta? i dont know how we can actually fight frauds like that, today privacy is one of the most important things to the average internet user, you can switch IPs, Usernames, e-mails... my point is being if anyone want to fool a poll they'll eventually would...

exactly like what storyteller said if anyone want to rip it theyll rip it, but i wasnt that concerned about that, i just want a nice quality streaming audio site, like one that provides HQ listening as well as LQ listening, storyteller, any leads?

i don't remember having this kind of problems here on TA, so i guess we're fine. also users that voted can also post in the thread the remix they voted for, so you can eventually match the votes a remix gets with users of TA.

are there gonna be runner-ups or just winner?

Posted by DJ Resemo on Jan-08-2009 08:49:

There's always a problem with the voting methods...that's why I usually think that a panel of different judges who don't know each other or any of the contestants works best.

I agree though...if we're having a poll...I think the votes that should count are the ones where the user posts in his "review" of the five tunes...even if short...but that way everyone knows that the votes are legit and have been made after a thorough listen.

Good luck to everyone...mine's gonne be sent in around 6 hours still!

Cheers
DJ Resemo

What?

Posted by Storyteller on Jan-08-2009 14:11:

Most honest thing of course would be the A&R and artist's vote. Not so much the audience.
