Generally speaking, platonic relationships between a man a woman do not exist. They might at first, but eventually one grows feelings for the other. It's natural. We're human beings. And when this happens, of course, the friendship is no longer the same. The advice is never the same. It's skewed and no longer pure.

I have a 100% platonic best friend of 11 years.

We met when she was dating my brother, and completely view eachother as brother and sister, nawt sexual about it at all.

Sorry jenny

I can be friends with either sex, however since I don't like football (soccer) initially it is difficult to get a conversation going with the typical bloke in the uk.

Once I've discovered a common ground, no worries.

So I find it easier to be mates with women, but my best pals are always male.

Indirect speech really does wonders.

Not by any means. Just that it isn't surprising that he hasn't met any European since he hasn't met any TAs. I think it is probably suffice to say that TAs are infinitely more accessible than European women in the US.

She dated your brother! It damn well better be platonic.

Ffs.

...provided one WANTS to meet members of tranceaddict. Not everyone is a needy nerd like you.

I'd love to meet TAs. Would be classic.

Anyone who posts frequently on this forum is a nerd.

Depends on how much they read I guess.

You get one unit of nerdiness for every five minutes spent reading, and three units of nerdiness for every five minutes spent posting.

Also, getting in a long argument (at least twenty posts made in one thread) is worth like five hundred nerd points at least.

...and 1,000,000,000 nerd points for composing a post like that.

Possibly, but not everyone wants to meet other nerds from the internet. I assume you don't, otherwise you would have already. I find it laughable that gezhumteufel thinks the chances of meeting a European woman (probably 10% of the Earth's population) are less than that of meeting someone from this forum.

How does wanting to meet new people make someone needy? I fail to see the correlation here between meeting new people and being needy.

Also, while you are correct that not everyone wants to meet the members here, I am sure if they didn't want to they would make it known or quite obvious by their actions.

Heh, with that many points, I wonder if I've got enough mileage to go to Hong Kong for free

Is "nerd" really being as an insult in this thread?

Bloody jocks

We nerds can disarm the term by wearing it proudly.
