They said that they will continue to disrupt the daily lives of the citizens of Toronto until their demands are met? Sounds like terrorism to me.

I'm all about peaceful protests to get a message out, but once you shut down a major highway and put the safety of the general public at risk it crosses the line and is no longer peaceful.

I'm all for protesting when it is LEGITIMATE.

No way when it has to do with a terrorist organisation and more importantly when it disrupts the lives of innocent citizens living in this or any city. SAD and desperate pathetic attempt at gaining sympathy. Even more useless and cowardly is using young women/children as shields against the cops. Wtf.

Now that I think of this, I am mad at myself for not going on the Gardiner! When else would I have an opportunity to walk there, the pics look so cool. And obviously nobody got arrested, so it would have been safe. Hell, I could have blended in nicely too.

No shit...the cops should have done something. I watched videos from the SPP protest in Montebello Que and people were shot with tear gas, bean bags, and arrested for nothing. Meanwhile the tamils shut down a highway, assault police officers and use women and children as shields and nothing happens to them?

There's one thing if people are peacefully protesting and doing things legally and the cops lay the smack down on them for NO reason and one thing entirely when the cops do nothing and the protestors break the law.

In all fairness to the cops they're probably as cheesed as we are, I'm sure they wanted to bust it up the minute it started. Sounds like the orders were not coming down (ie. Blair and fucktard Miller)

Yes I'm upset about the traffic chaos they caused and the money wasted on all that overtime for the cops and lost productivity.

But what im most pissed about is what kind of precedent this sets. Just because your frustrated about something doesn't mean you have the right to freak out and fuck over the rest of the city.

This city has needed to grow some balls for a while and i hope the next time this goes down the cops won't hesitate to show who's in control of the city.
