I heard that St. Anger was absolutely awful.

Bleeding Me and Outlaw Torn make this album worth listening to

IMO, 2 of Metallica's more underrated jams

Kill em' all was okay, Ride the Lightning is my fave MOP is MOP and Justice is k. They just kind of dropped the ball... big time. It all just hit the fan with black album and load. They were just too commercial. Not very metal, not very metal at all.

There are a few hidden gems there. Granted you have to sift through the rest, but it might be worth your while .

Some melodic stuff:

However i think "My Arms, Your Hearse" sounds very good as well, it's certainly more rudimentary than their post-00 releases, but it's a big improvement over the first two albums.

Completely agree. I actually like all of their albums (Damnation included) and have a lot of respect for them for trying to come up with new material all the while keeping their own signature sound.

Speaking of Steve Wilson, I've recently discovered a band called "Orphaned Land" and it seems like their next album will be produced by him as well. Very curious as to the result!

I like that Stormlord song, I had never heard of them until I read this thread though.
