Anyone know the Time Slots for the After Party or the Float?

Posted by Lira Yin on Sep-28-2009 04:32:

mm? gil's & fei-fei's names aren't on the float flier? --is it because they're not playing the afterparty, just the parade?

Heck, it wasn't in in Berlin in 2007 and 2008. It was in Essen in 2007 and then in Dortmund last year.

Hopefully people understand why the organizers of LE are requiring $10 for entry this time around...cause it's prob either they do that or cancel the event, and we all don't want that to happen!

I want to see semis in this year parade be using water-cooled sound systems like LP in Germany does.

Yeah, it's really hard for me to fathom...I was there in the middle of 1.2 million people at Love Parade Berlin in 2006, and it seemed like a phenomenal success, like it was back for good. In Germany, the organizers insisted that the parade (and daytime festival, as it's one and the same) be free for everyone.

If each person had contributed one Euro, then there would have been 1.2 million Euros for cleanup and then some. Of course, it was also very political...from what I understand many businesses and residents did not like the Love Parade due to traffic, congestion, and I'm sure many other reasons. So the organizers sucked it out of Berlin and moved up north to different cities through 2011, and now Berlin loses millions of tourism dollars as a result. It went on successfully for a couple more years, but the city of Bochum didn't think it could handle the crowd, so it was canceled for 2009 even as there was record attendance of 1.6 million just the year before in Dortmund.

So it is a delicate balance between the city, its people, businesses and success can feed failure. That's why I think it's important for everyone to do their part to make sure LovEvolution continues to be a success...simple stuff like use the trash cans, be nice to everyone, know when to say when, etc. ...I'm sure the vast majority of us are already on board.

It's also worthwhile pointing out the many benefits of LovEvolution in terms of tourism, city image, etc. Many businesses welcome those visiting LovEvolution with open arms since the people are friendly and fun to be around. I often book 2-3 hotel rooms there each year between me and my friends, do some sightseeing, shopping, and dining in addition to the parade, festival and afterparty. To me, it's a win-win combination that makes perfect sense, and I'd like to think that LovEvolution is here to stay!

Posted by Tosh on Sep-28-2009 17:12:

Posted by KarenLuvs2Party on Sep-28-2009 17:19:

skills is the one selling the ticket...

those people told me the credit card requirement when picking up tickets is a event Promoter requirement.. not an eventbrite requirement... so i gotta wait for Skills to get back to me...

Posted by Tosh on Sep-28-2009 20:58:

Anyone know if these are the real Time Slots for the After Party?

MAIN ROOM:

EDDIE HALLIWELL 3:00-4:00
GROOVE ARMADA 1:45-3:00
DEADMAU5 12:30-1:45
FISCHERSPOONER 11:15-12:30
DJ DAN & DON GLAUDE 10:00-11:15
BURNS 9:00-10:00
ALAIN OCTAVO 8:00-9:00

SIDE ROOM:

DYLOOT 2:45-4:00
JOHN O'CALLAGHAN 1:30-2:45
ANDY MOOR 12:15-1:30
MENNO DE JONG 11:00-12:15
JON O'BIR 9:30-11:00
BLIX CANNON 8:00-9:30

I dunno but if so that's actually prob the best progression you could get out of that lineup.

And, if this is real, I like how they put Dyloot in the side room while Eddie is int he main room, so you don't have two of the headliner DJs who have a somewhat similar style (fast, hard) competing with each other.

According to the offical afterparty website. Click on talent and more info...it lists the set times there.

skills/spundae will probably post their float set times, or at least the order of appearance, ahead of time. other floats will just post their set times on their own floats the day of the event, if at all.

So I never go around to getting tickets cause I thought I'd be out of the area. What's the cheapest way to get them (do any stores have hard ticekts)?

I'd like to say I'm being unbiased here. I know it may be hard to beleive, but I am trying to be...

...but I was really really impressed with how the lineup in the main room worked out.

I forgot how amazing Fischerspooner can be. I heard they weren't very good at Vanguard, but they BLEW ME AWAY last night. And those who saw them at vanguard were talking about how it was like night & day. Absolutely destroyed the place. Wow. I don't know how else to describe it.

Deadmau5....the crowd ate him up.

GrooveArmada is a more subdued act, but the crowd was groovin' hardcore overall.

Main room was still packed to the gils during Halliwell's set...ALL OF IT. It was nuts seeing everyone on the feet and to the far reaches of the corner jumping up and down all night long without slowing down.

I usually keep my impressions of an event lik this private because of the whole "bias" argument that came out, but I just came away so impressed w/ how it all worked out, I just had to say something.

Dunno how the side room was, spent mayeb five minutes it all night (cause I was working).

My feet are still killing me like never before. I didn't realize it fully last night but I sprained a couple toes from running after fools would get up on the speakers on stage and having to jump over lights and stuff to go after them. It was a lot of fun, but strressful and painful. A dangerous! loz.

This post is simply about the music itself.
