no one is a bigger trance lover than eklund from hockey buzz.

Posted by Spin Laden on Jan-29-2010 20:09:

I wasn't aware of the site.. is the rest of it good? I'll heed the Eklund advice, hehe.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-29-2010 20:12:

the blogs are good if you want view points from around the league, eric engels does a good job writing on the habs. Eklund though makes up everything, it is great for lulz.

Posted by Spin Laden on Jan-29-2010 20:20:

will start reading this too, thanks. i know Canuck fans want to hang MacLean by the balls, but I've been wanting to do that to him for some time now

Posted by Bertuzz on Jan-30-2010 05:59:

Farber writes for SI yes, but he's lived in Montreal for a while and I think he still might. He knows his stuff even if you say he likes the unicorn trance.

I like Engels too. Surprising given this guy is really young and has not been doing this for a long time at all!

As for Eklund, the guy pulls stuff out of his ass and mentions "Habs" in every 2nd post just to get the MTL hits. And I also stumbled on how he comes up with his supposed "rumors": http://hockeybuzzhogwash.com/rumourgen.htm

In the last 3 games, the habs have not managed to get the puck behind the goalie....and now w/o Cammalari.....the HABS are fucked

um you mean at 5 on 5 right? because the score was 3-2 yesterday

leafs get phaneuf and possibly giguere.

habs need to trade everyone and get to last place for the overall first rounder imo....if they could not score on 5 on 5 before, losing their best goal scorer will only make it worse.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-31-2010 18:08:

TOSKALA + BLAKE for JS Giguere confirmed.

"The Calgary Flames have traded defenceman Dion Phaneuf, forward Fredrik Sjostrom, and prospect defenceman Keith Aulie to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forwards Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman, Jamal Mayers and defenceman Ian White."

Boston will get the first overall pick for sure now.(leafs traded it for kessel)

Taylor Hall is going to look good in Boston.

It looks like I'll be at the Bruins game on Sunday for some real hockey

Posted by Schadenfreude on Feb-01-2010 18:06:

why real hockey? i thought the bruins were playing the habs on sunday.

Posted by Abercrombie on Feb-01-2010 18:28:

a) Habs
b) Any hockey compared to a leafs game is real hockey

Posted by Schadenfreude on Feb-01-2010 18:36:

maybe if you set the bar that low...but have you watched the habs play lately?

Posted by Abercrombie on Feb-01-2010 19:01:

I'm hoping to see them win 2 for 2 for games I've been at.

I was in North Carolina for the holidays and watched them beat the canes 5-1 on their home turf.
I was entertained

Posted by Spin Laden on Feb-01-2010 19:38:

I hope you didn't stay in that seat very long, look at all the empty ones

So it looks like Camilleri is out for at least 6 weeks.

season was over even with him, now the nail is in the coffin. What does Bob the (bad) Builder do now?

Something to keep in mind:

The Habs have about $46 million committed to payroll without the following players under contract for next season.

M.Lapierre

M.D'Agostini

B.Pouliot

S.Kostitsyn

T.Plekanec

C.Price

J.Halak

gone for sure = Lapierre, Dags, S.Kost, (one goalie)...still not enough cash left to sign Pouilot (he has earned it), Pleks, and the other goalie because there will be many roster holes to fill. (also salary cap is going down...by how much who knows?)

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

it is going to be a long couple of years.

thanks for Gomez and the other retarded contracts Bob Villa.

anyone remember the "5 year plan"? Seems to me we will be going on year 7 and they are worse than when they started.

SIGH.

I agree with you on 110%.
If Burk could of done what he did yesterday, SURELY we can do something by trading our young players for something good. MY HOPES is to lose as MANY games as possible and get a good first round pick.

Posted by Marcus007 on Feb-02-2010 00:09:

we're screwed... utterly screwed...

If by young player, you mean D'agostini. yes
If by young player, you mean Subban, then no I completely disagree.

I don't think the Habs are exactly buyers right now. I don't think getting a rent-a-player will do us any good at all. Let's lock up Pleks AT LEAST, maybe slight raise for pouliot and price/halak and we'll see for the rest.

but like freak said...things are definitely not looking good...We're lucky the rest of the Eastern conference is sucking it up just as much as us, otherwise we'd be MUCH farther out of the playoffs. Just look at the West.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Feb-02-2010 01:13:

d'agostini gets a 3rd round pick if we trade him in the best case scenario.

what has he done other than not skate and shoot pucks at goalies uniform logos?

you guys don't want to hear this, but markov is our best asset to trade right now, and we should do it. price + markov = decent player and 1st round picks.

markov = 31 years old...we will not be able to contend for a cup while he is in his prime, so sacrifice him now so that we could get more assets for later.

we need to begin the youth movement.

markov is gone as soon as he is a UFA, because he is a competitor and wants to win....something he can't do here.

Posted by OkiDokie on Feb-02-2010 01:23:

The upcoming season does not look good.

Posted by Marcus007 on Feb-02-2010 01:26:

i think markov will resign to montreal personally...

Posted by Schadenfreude on Feb-02-2010 01:32:

he doesn't want to be captain for a reason...he hates losing.

he = 31 years old.

do you think we can contend for a cup soon?

no.

Posted by KrinKer on Feb-02-2010 02:10:

better yet

Trade fucking bob the (bad) builder

What has he done since he's there anyways ??

Fucking nothing other than to destroy the team, fucking kick him out ASAP before what's left of the team leaves and maybe we can salvage whatever's left for next (well 2011-2012) season.
