Not sure how Sasha generally handles his PR follies, but I'd give the man the benefit of the doubt before jumping down his throat and wait for a statement from his North American management.

That being said, I can think of at least two top 20 DJs that have performed with (very) serious illnesses in the last month. I can't imagine lightning striking in the same place twice, but in all fairness this is awfully disappointing.

yeah, Tony from A&B was very very sick last week in NYC as well. Poor guy looked like death, and to our dissapointment, the party was very short for the venue's standards. I think the promoter shut it down tho, because some girl OD'd and had a seizure.....

its no different....its a job and sometimes people just call in sick...or god forbid he actually is sick. Do you really think any DJ cares if they miss a day on the job here or there or that their fans are going to be upset because of it?

hahahahaha where did you hear this? They actually said this on the DVD????

He's a DJ, not Metallica or something... they don't deal with that type of money.

Posted by d-form on Nov-08-2009 21:30:

Yes they said that on the dvd. Not sure if it was the club he'd have to pay though. I think it was live nation or whatever promoter had put the tour together.

Thats a lot of money for someone like a DJ.

Think... the guvernment probably gets like 2500 people in at $15 (I think this is the cover... havent been there in a while). Say when Sasha comes they get 3500 people in @ $20. They would only get like an extra $30,000 by him showing up (plus some extra drink sales, etc.)

So $100,000 seems like a lot of money for this sort of thing! unless they are talking more about those huge festivals in Europe where they get like 10,000+ people.

Is this a joke?

And thats probly why he showed up every night. Delta heavy was in the kool haus. Not sure how many people it holds but i think it was about $40 for tics.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice - I can't get fooled again.

Fuck Sasha with a big rubber dick. At least Diggers was there to kick ass last time. Mark Oliver was pretty good last night but I've had my fair share of MO nights.

I heard the rumors about the girl ODing etc, but I can definitely say that the party wasn't shut down early - A&B played their allotted 2 1/2H.

well people were upset because Roseland events tend to go until 6. Such is life, but it was a major disappointment to the crowd, who truly thought they would end at 6. oh well, moving on!

Posted by activate on Nov-08-2009 23:55:

Sasha has also made it to many events in toronto after long epic events the night prior.

I also recall him showing and still playing guv years ago when he had food poisoning. I think it might have been on the northern exposure tour. Sasha was running to the bathroom every 20 or 30 minutes to puke and shit.

How come no one is giving him props for that?

People do actually get sick you know. If anyone here has ever had a flu, i'm sure you're aware of how quickly it can hit you.

Posted by RapidFire on Nov-09-2009 00:04:

fuck you sasha. im probably one of his bigges tfans but this was bullshit. tells you how much he cares about his fans

While I am kinda upset that this happened, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I myself have been coughing my lungs out with really bad chest pain since a few hours ago. Sickness can hit you quickly. This makes me think back to a few years ago, out nowhere, Sander Kleinenberg canceled a whole bunch of shows citing exhaustion and fatigue. If it was any of you, and you were concerned that performing your job could be detrimental to your health, wouldn't you "call in sick"?

Oh well, win some lose some, we ended up at Footwork and had a smashing time! Jimpster rocked it! Wooooohoooo!

dude, if he really was sick, it has nothing to do with his "care for his fans."

I know it is a shitty situation, but lets not all make assumptions and overly-harsh statements here.
