First timer here. After reading some old DEMF threads, I knew I had to make the trip out.

I decided to coordinate a visit to DEMF & Chicago where I used live. I'm booked at the Double Tree, but not sure when to arrive & leave. I've tentatively decided to come in Fri nite and leave Tuesday. But to save money & time I could come Saturday and leave Monday, but I don't want to miss anything.

How long do people typically stay?

Thanks.

The party starts on saturday at noon. Most of us drive from Toronto that morning and checking at 12-1ish. You can avoid the friday nite at Dtree...however, depending on your travel....it might be useful..

Thanks. Now I have to figure out whether to visit Chicago before DEMF or after. Since Chicago is for socializing rather than hitting clubs, it probably doesn't matter.

I normally get in the area on Friday and hang out and stay with friends that night

Then come up on saturday and leave out on Tuesday. I don't go back to work until Thursday though.....too much drinking and dancing to still get back to normal from.

Anyone looking to share a room at the Double Tree? Not sure if we're splitting a room yet or not, but Ian and I were just talking about our dwindling piggy banks and toying with the idea of switching our King sweet to 2 Queens, and wanted to see who still needed a place.

Switch it and sit on it... it's the same price pretty much so you're not really wasting money...

I'm sure more people towards the dates will need accomodations, people who were late, or even people who were not planning on staying overnight then might end up doing so. Just split it then...

"You got a room?! Ohh man, that's a good idea! Wish I did that!"

I'm sure you'll hear alot of that closer to the weekend lol

It's a good idea. But then if we decide we still want our King (God, I love King beds in nice hotels) we may not be able to get it.

But realistically, your idea is better. I can sacrifice the King. I'll talk to Ian tomorrow and try to switch it.
