Why do always countries with severe drug-transit issues have the most beautiful women? I once saw a chick from Honduras at a party in 2007. Never got over it. Extremely beautiful.

| Originally posted by Lira As the regular posters here probably know, there are very few topics I take seriously but, when I do, I usually bomb the screen with walls of text, sources, and html codes. Also, I'm far from being an intolerant person, having argued for the liberty of all kinds of nutters. In this thread, I want to try a somewhat different approach: because of the consequences involved in this kind of activity, it'd be downright immoral to be tolerant. And I want to make it brief. It doesn't matter right now if the war on drugs is misguided or wrong. It exists and, as far as we're all concerned, it must either be repelled through legal action or obeyed. If you really need drugs and want to find a moral loophole, make sure you can either manipulate the necessary substances/plants and make your own narcotics, or buy homegrown if you absolutely know no other crimes are being committed. However, if you buy drugs of unknown origin, I'd like to politely ask you to stop it. Otherwise, if you really need drugs, please overdose. You may live in comfortable communities where your actions have little if any impact, but the drugs may well have come from some other place. And you're very likely responsible in a way or another for drug-related crime in Mexico: do you really think the routes reaching the borders are a coincidence? As someone who lives in a developing country, I can assure you that we do not have the means to revert this situation. Poverty is tough enough a problem for us to tackle, and it's already a good source of problems and criminality. If you sponsor these criminals through the acquisitions of the goods they sell, you're only making it harder for us to solve this problem. I've had loved ones kidnapped by drug pushers looking for money, and they have become all too powerful due to their profitable activities. I'm doing all I can to raise awareness where I live because the situation here is not much better than what's going on in Mexico. However, the world is now flatter than ever, and this is probably a hopeless attempt to do something abroad. But, I'm trying, and I beg you: if you want to do drugs, do the right thing - either do it responsibly or just end yourself because no upstanding citizen deserves to pay for your mindless actions ![]() CORe version: If you do drugs, please see the traffic routes in the map above. Other people may be dying so you can get high and, if that's the case, I warmly ask you to end yourself before you do any further damage. Oh, and I fucking hate you for that |
I understand your point, Cheif, and I know I wasn't exactly polite in my original post. I apologise for offending you. I needed, however, the shock value, because I believe this message is very important, and this has got to be one of the most popular threads I've ever posted (despite the fact the shock value seems to have created quite a backlash).

I'm proud to say that when I was living in Canada, every drug I took was not imported but from there. I respect your views Lira, and some things make a lot of sense, but most of it is a pipe dream at best. It shows that you have had a brush-up with the drug element in regards to your fiance with the voracity of your posts which is out of character with how you usually carry yourself around here. I don't think you will, because you most likely would have by now, but it would be interesting to hear a brief explanation of exactly what happened.
Also: what about prescription drugs? There are tons made in Mexico to cut costs. These drugs are peddled illegally by the same people selling the drugs that you admonish. Prescription medication addiction is a bigger problem than cocaine and heroin.

I used to buy pot from this really grubby fellow who holed up in a tiny bedroom of his mother's house. She had Alzheimer's, and her husband had died, so when she couldn't keep a job, she kept her son close, who could afford to pay the mortgage along with her disability check so they could keep their home. It was small, but the downstairs was well kept and curtained. She had another son, but he was imprisoned for manslaughter, so some help he was! This guy couldn't get a steady job because of his own criminal past, but he was perfectly content to peddle weed to take care of him and his mother. His pot smelt of blueberries - and sometimes even bubblegum! - but it wasn't quality enough that you'd believe it was local hydro, and he sure as fuck didn't grow it himself, so where did he get it? Well fuck, you don't ask that sort of thing unless you're a cop, so you make with the cash and go home.
Is this the sort of thing I am to be sorry about? Because the many, many hands that move a product one way each have a story to tell, and so very few of them have a thing to do with kidnapping or decapitation any more than you have to do with the abuse at Foxconn.

haven't done coke in quite a long time.
Lira, don't try and claim you are not acting high and mighty when you start a discussion with this kind of post:

That's just horrible. Telling addicts basically to just go die. I'm lucky that I'm no addict and never have been, but I know people who have, and it usually has a root cause (abuse, poverty, depression or other undiagnosed illness) that is out of the control of the addict.
FFS, they are human beings. I agree with the War on drugs being retarded, but you are really pissed at the wrong people, here. If we treated addicts for underlying causes instead of like criminals (or like disposable garbage), we might actually improve the situation.

that shit is epic. i smack down the homeless all of the time, only because i have a 1 inch penis.
Just to chill out a bit of this discussion and to give you a 'picture' of the drug trafficking here in Brazil (specially Rio), check it out these movies, if you are more interested:
City Of God -> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317248/
City Of Men -> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0870090/
Elite Squad -> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0861739/
Elite Squad: The Enemy Within -> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1555149/
It covers pretty much everything about this polemic topic. Also, they're fucking good movies, incredibly realistic scenes, dialogues and environments. Acted by people from favelas. People who are living this reality.
