I have so much to say but I can't do it now. I made it back home in one piece, but it was the most sketched out car ride of ALL time. Margs I didn't know I was going until an hour before.

Tiesto put on a great show, but the jokes which ensued were much more pleasant. Watching Duragay crack over the tickets was well worth the 40 fucking bucks. muhahahha It was nice seeing all you guys out, I'll write a better shouts out when I'm back on my computer.

WHERE ARE THE PICS? I wanna see one in particular where my eyes are closed, nat you know the one! That was the biggest t.a massive I've ever seen. Hope to party with you guys again.

Dood, Kiss @ Cobol Hall is the best show you'll ever see in your life!

I like a diversity of music, but Kiss are the gods of rock!

Kiss Army!!! Woo!

Jon I still say the funniest thing the entire night was when you told Liam about the "TA's" and...lol

Posted by TranceXtasy on Dec-18-2002 04:21:

Few months back at the Guv 6 year anniversary party, I realized that perfection comes about extremely rarely, especially as far as parties are concerned. Since that night was the pinnacle of my parting life, things could only be measured against it and perhaps never surpass. As a result, I did not go to Tiesto with astronomical expectations, and as a result I avoided a potential downfall.

Overall, the party was a great success. We only waited in line for 10 min or so thanks to some friends I met in line. The dcor at the party was absolutely beautiful. Goldclub series really transformed the Kool Haus into an enchanting arena. Perhaps the greatest aspect of the night was all the wonderful people who were present. I met up with so many of my friends, It almost felt like a massive private party. Great to see so many TA representing, I won't get into all the names, cause it will take me forever not to miss anyone (BTW, great to see you joining the TA community Guvaholic). Overall you guys made this experience really warm and intimate.

As many of you have already pointed out, the girls that night were absolutely phenomenal. The crowd in general was more posh, and it really gave the club an ambiance of sophistication. It was a pleasure seeing so many beautiful ladies around, without the usually snobby attitude you get a mainstream clubs.

As for the music, I would be lying if I said that it was one of the best parties. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, it just was not mind-blowing like some of the other parties (Corsten, AVB, Gielen, Talla etc.) Luke Fair, did not really do it for me, but then again I am not that big of a prog fan. Dekozee threw a surprisingly awesome cool down set, I really did not expect that type of closure to the night. Lastly, the man him self Tiesto, played a mediocre set in my opinion. It was a little on the progressive tip for my liking, without enough uplifting trance. His exhaustion from 5 straight gigs in a row was also quite evident. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of his set, was the rapid closure without the presence of any climax. I was sure that Tiesto just had to go to the washroom, and I waited in agony for his return.

Unfortunately, he never did come back, no good-byes, no last tracks, he just vanished. On the brighter side, Dekozee did a fine job at closing the night for him, In conclusion, have to say that this night stands as a great memory among the numerous parties in my repertoire, perhaps not so much because of the music, but more so because of all the awesome people who were there and made this night a success.

See you at the next big event.

I assumed since like 3 people mentioned me and Andy (dj bod) as being from Detroit Rock City that if I used it as my sn then you would know who this is. Just wanted to thanks to Sketch and 404 (Scott and Brian) for asking how I was. It was awesome meeting everyone, ya'll are so nice. I had a great time up until the revs all kicked in at once. Then it got kinda scary when I went to puke and ended up passing out on the crapper and the cops broke in to take me to the hospital and I ran away from them. That part kinda sucked. It also super sucked that I made Andy leave early and projectile vomited on him on the way out. But minus all the crappy stuff, I had a great time. I enjoyed meeting all of you, might have to make it to Toronto again sometime. Or you guys are all welcome to come to Detroit. Don't know why you would come, but the offer is there

Oh and RJ, I didn't say I didn't like KISS, just said that i've never seen them at cobo. Cobo kinda sucks for concerts.

Peace,
Koreen

Yep. I'm becoming worse and worse. first it was alcohol, then it was weed, next it was e, now I'm addicted to crack..

Seriously though, when it was 10:20PM and I still didn't have my tickets, I got pretty crazy... That's what Halo20 found funny.. Notice: I did not find it funny.

Posted by Endlesswave on Dec-18-2002 21:16:

Yeh Ilia I was the same way. I was almost at the front of the line, no tickets. If it weren't for Allan, I would have been SOL.

Thumbs up

ok well its been a few days since the party but anyway here's my review...

first impression when i got into the kool haus was great... i thought they did an amazing job turning the kool haus into what it was that night... line ups moved reallly fast to my surprise, came in around 11:30 and the first thing i noticed was sooo many hottt women there... its been a long time since i saw that many great looking girls all at one place!! luke fair was warming up the crowd that had already filled up much of the kool haus... personally, i thought he was all over the place, housey then trancey than hard... i dunno, i didnt like it much...

ok tiesto... i guess i was kind of dissapointed overall... well maybe not dissapointed, but i went there with different expectations... i was used to hearing his sets slowly build up from mellow to hard, that when he came out hard right away, i guess it kind of shocked me and i couldnt really get into his set at all the whole night... he did play some wicked trance tracks and i really enjoyed his set, but out of all his live sets i've heard, i'd have to say this was his poorest performance yet... i guess like someone said previously, he was prolly tired from touring, and i guess it showed...

*shrugs*

anyway, i left right after his set and didn't get a chance to hear dekoze... i'm kicking myself for that now...

I (Mike too) had an amazing time at Tiesto thanks to everyone who made it so.

I finally went with a name, my own, easy to remember. Thanks Hordash but I don't think Jenna Jamieson was really my style.

Hope to see you guys soon.

My only comment on all those pics - I think I've got to buy a digital camera or some crap like that and bring it with me next time so I can get you (and me!) a few hundred shots of all those beautiful babes in that place, with phone numbers too!

My late review (as always):

This event was hyped up so much, and i was overly hyped for it. The decor this time around was alright, not much better then last year @ the Kool Haus, but oh well. The TA turn out was probably the best it's ever been. It was nice seeing everyone in a great mood plus meeting alot of the newer TA's. Good vibes all around!
Luke Fair started off very very slow and mellow for the first part and then picked things up to finish with a greatly enjoyable prog set which i would give about 8/10.
Tiesto came on and opened with a fucking Bang!!! The first 4-5 songs were unbelievable... we need to id the first few tracks!!! Those tracks led to him playing the best song of the night imo, "Wizardry"(Definitely one of the 10 trance tracks for 2002)!!!! The crowd loved it! He was playing pretty good for the most part, but unfortunatley had a couple of fuck ups... one which was horrible(and we all know what one it was by now!) During his set the odd "Tiesto Tiesto Tiesto" chant would start up, which was cool to hear. Highlighted tracks of his set for me were: "Wizardry", GTR - "Mistral", Plastic Boy - "Silver Bath", "Flight 643" and "Urban Train". I was disappointed that he ended early just like last year!! That sucked... Tiesto isn't #1 in my books **cough**ARmin**cough** my rating for his set based on expectations and amount of trance played 7/10.
After Tiesto, Dekoze came on and tore it the fuck up!!! Wow, everytime i see this guy play at big events he just goes nuts. This guy needs to be a guest Dj in the Guv or Viva for a night!! i must have heard the best mixes of the entire night done by this guy. Highlight track of his set for me was James Holden - "Nothing (remix)". DeKoze gets a 10/10!!!
The vibe in the Kool Haus was probably one of the best that i have experienced since PVD (Feb. 2001). It was packed as expected but there was still enough room to dance.
Odd person of the night: That tall large Goth thing.. i call it a thing because we couldn't tell if it was a guy or a girl.
Overall vibe, decor, atmosphere, and sets get a 9/10 for the night... definitely a night i will remember.
To all the TA's i chatted with it was awesome seeing you all again, and Swamper it was cool finally conversating with you after all this time.

So who's next!!!!??

That large Goth person/thing I've seen before @ Viva I think. It was for Jon the Dentist. Was wearing all of this Ninja type clothing and had some black mask on his head, all you could see was their blonde hair coming out of the back of their head.
