So what's the go? You pretty much only just graduated, but you're studying again? Or is the study like a progressive thing through your full-time position?

Studying never finishes especially not if you aim to climb the so called corporate ladder.

Competence gets you a certain way up the ladder, after that its the good old fashioned backstabbing, theft, making connections with people that are worthwhile and ruining the reputation of your competition.

Post grad course to enhance my practice. This course is part of a whole critical care certificate...but I don't think I will pursue the whole thing. I just need this course, and eventually the second level, to be able to care for patients that require intense cardiac monitoring. All of the higher acuity settings require nurses to have this course/skill, including the unit I currently work on. In a couple years I'd like to join the float pool or go to the ER, so yeah.


The learning never stops, and it's actually a professional obligation.

Just had my first couple of gray hairs pop out this year. The past few years have not been kind to me.

My sister thinks I'm being rude and selfish because I refuse to pay more than 200 dollars for a bridesmaid dress for her wedding (which is on the other side of the country, btw). She didn't even bother to consult any of us about how much we were willing to spend in the first place - although she says she asked the other girls and "they don't care." Why didn't she ask me?

Furthermore the dress she wants needs such significant alterations that she may as well have picked out a whole different dress.

I don't think it's so unreasonable to ask that she find a dress that fits the criteria in the first place, at a decent price - is it??

I just can't believe she thinks I'm being rude and selfish, lol. I've been in a few weddings and the brides have ALWAYS consulted about price, style, etc. My sister told me "It's not up to me."
