Your wife called you to bed a half hour ago and you're still sitting there, trolling Nou. For someone who seemingly has so many responsibilities, you sure know how to enjoy your leisure.

Some guys get hit on a fair bit. I used to a fair bit. It's nowhere near as much as girls do though. It really depends on the situation.

If you're going to an rnb club or something then no doubt girls will get hit on loads but guys won't be as much. Wheras if it's somewhere that's not really known for that sortof thing it's a bit more even but still heavily skewed towards girls (by a 4-1 or so ratio perhaps).

Girls usually aren't as upfront either. Girls do occasionally use semi obvious lines like "I think I know you from somewhere" but even still it's rare. You sometimes notice someone talking to you who just seems super interested in everything you have to say and like they're trying to play it cool. They might not upfront compliment you though. You can tell after it's happened a few times, but really the only way to really know is if they're complimenting you physically or if they suddenly lose interest and look sad when you tell them you have a gf.

I've always thought of flirting as the more subtle thing. If a girl at a club comes up to me and starts talking to me in a way that suggests she wants to ask me out then that's definitely being hit on. If I'm already talking to someone for a while and they start dropping hints then that's flirting.

Yea unless a girl is super obvious when I'm out then it's not gunna take... I've talked to a girl for like 45 minutes outside of a club and not realized what was up till after she left disappointed looking and I've been dragged out by the wrist (that worked).

Usually when I'm totally sloshed and someplace for the music and the music is good then I'm going to be fairly oblivious.

On another note kinda feel dumb having gone out last night (before Halloween) and feeling too shit to go out tonight. Fell asleep at 10pm.fail.

I am just saying how it is for me. I've always been slow on the uptake when it comes to girls.

Last person who hit on me was some dude at the gym the other day, lol.

Either I give off a gay vibe or weightlifting three times a week is starting to pay off. Or maybe a bit of both.

Lol, nice.

I'd gay you.

Is that you in your profile pic? Those ears would give a man something to hold on to...

Job interview yesterday went quite well. I may actually get a gig programming for a living soon finally. Second interview is Monday.

Congrats and good luck!

Not to steal his thunder, but I just finished my entrance exam. I'll know within 8-12 weeks what my score is, but I'm feeling pretty confident right now! Let's all hope for the best.

Posted by Alex on Nov-07-2014 01:54:

Good luck both of you!

Posted by Silky Johnson on Nov-07-2014 03:49:

Cool, good luck to you too! Does anyone ever really worry about failure though? Most people here aren't stupid at all, I mean I feel like "Well duh, obviously you would be successful." Part of it is that I just think it's ludicrous to believe that a person WON'T succeed if they're putting in the effort.

But still, good luck! Lol.

Posted by Joss Weatherby on Nov-07-2014 04:02:

I've always had an irrational fear of failure which has prevented me from starting a lot of things, though once I start I usually do fine.

I don't know, probably general anxiety issues, which feed depression issues, which then feedback into the anxiety.

Well, that was weird. I haven't danced when I was alone at home in at least like half a decade. I guess sometimes when the right music is playing you just have to get up and dance.

Posted by Joss Weatherby on Nov-07-2014 04:46:

I'll start doing this randomly sometimes, then remember that I have a ground floor corner apartment with windows on both sides facing a really active pedestrian area.

Oddly enough I have no problem dancing like a complete mong when I am out at a club in front of hundreds of people, haha.

Speaking of... It is Thursday and there is a good night down the street, I wonder who is playing.

Posted by Joss Weatherby on Nov-07-2014 05:26:

I was talking to someone on the phone today and they asked me what I was doing and I immediately said "nothing much" despite the fact that I was doing something and I'd been wanting to talk to this person and catch up on things.

I thought about it more (because I always over think things) and realized I do this with everyone all the time. Anyone that asks me what I am up to I always give a dismissive "nothing" answer to even if I am doing something, or have been doing something, or something interesting has happened.

Even with my parents they'll ask how I've been or what I've been up to and I just say "nothing" or "not a lot". I don't know if it's laziness or just assuming they don't give a fuck and its a pleasantry that they are just asking for the sake of conversation or what but I've noticed it shuts down conversations pretty quickly.

I've only started doing it the last few years too. I used to talk ad nauseum about things to people if they asked but now I just sorta blow it off like who the fuck would care what I am doing.

How's your C++/Calculus/Hydraulics understanding?

Posted by Vector A on Nov-07-2014 15:00:
