Wow, lazy people are unbelievable.
I don't know if this exists in other countries, but there's usually a trolley cart or two in residential buildings here in Brazil so people can carry heavy stuff from their cars to their apartments. They're usually found in the garage, where it should be returned after use.
Tonight a woman simply left it in front of the lift and walked away. I was dumbstruck. How hard is it to spend 30 seconds of your life returning it if you bother to use the damn thing?

I suspect this has something to do with big countries, such as the US, Brazil, and China, where population density isn't too high and you can be inconsiderate with others without wreaking total havoc.
I had never thought about it until I heard a Dutch primatologist (Frans De Waal) mention that this could be one of the reasons why Americans are a lot less community-driven than his fellow countrymen. Of course, I don't know how (and if) you can measure that, but I wonder if this could explain some of the differences... these people are too common to be considered outliers.
They just think someone else will do it. It's someone else's JOB, why not let them do their JOB, it's what they get paid for goddammit! In a perverted way, it makes some sense, though I always return carts as a common courtesy to the next person who might seek to use it.

I just gave a lecture / presentation to some students and one girl looked exactly like Banora. I found it weird and very irritating.
Damn you cor, for ruining my everyday life.
Was it a real doll?

Speaking of look-alikes, the other day someone at my bank claimed I had a "twin" who also banked there.

A question about Brian's avatar:
Does anyone else see a crisp/potato chip instead of the chair?
Sure, if I defocus my eyes a lot.
I guess I need new glasses
By the way, today I woke up angry with my country. The public higher education institutions have been on strike for the last trimester, and I've had enough of these motherfucking syndicalists in my motherfucking university. Is there anything like a "scientific asylum"? I'm off to visit the British, the Dutch, and the Meaty embassies... I'm not willing to be in a PhD programme that may come to a halt whenever bureaucrats decide to quarrel with the government. This is not France, god damn it
You have to think you're never wrong.
You have to act like you're someone.
You want someone to hurt like you.
You want to share what you've been through.
You have to shut up.

Back. The Dutch were awesome, the Brits were very supportive, the Krauts told me to wait and look for info on the internet because the person in charge of helping students wasn't available at the moment (but I could go back as soon as this person returned), and the Aussies told me they don't deal with pesky scientists.
Hmm.... now I need to find out if I can tell my country to sod off, or if I need to stay now that I'm being paid for the government to do bugger all in a university paralysed by this series of strikes...
Wait, does this mean you might be coming to Europe?
I don't even think you're kidding. You really do want me to shut up.
Forgive me yall. This account was intended as a temporary ALT and it has instead become my original account. To make amends with all my peers, I'm going to flagellate myself tonight in the name of yeshua.

Trolling is an art, but one thing I didn't troll is being a christian. I'm not that smart. If I faked being a christian this whole time, then that would've been the greatest troll work in online history.
Yes, I agree with thinking before I post. If the Holy Spirit guides me though, I'll have to say something even if I'm walking into a lion's den.
Proverbs 12:8
"A man is praised according to his wisdom, but men with warped minds are despised."
Kind of funny actually
