Oddly the best Sushi I've ever had was made by a Pakistani friend of mine.

Second was this little hole in the wall sushi place about 40 mins outside Montreal.

Got very mediocre sushi instead.

[warning graphic]

had an accident at work on monday morning, been in a morphine haze ever since. here are some pictures from the process. accident was getting 1,5-2 tonnes pipe fall on my leg from about 40 cm. up. Luckily there was a wooden board on the ground keeping my entire foot to get crushed.

Just gotten my first morphine shot, pain has subsided and I'm high as f.

After I corrected the leg from standing at a 90 degree angle to the right - now at the hospital, but still not exactly right.

Leg angle corrected by ortopedist, and pre-op cast built.

First operation lasted 4 hours, they inserted a metal stick through the entire fibula (the shin-bone) and had to use some plates to get the crushed parts of the bone together.

After operation. But no. Too much pressure on the nerves through fluid filled tissue/muscles.

Not much to see, but about 20-30 cm long "open" cuts on each side of the shin-bone to release pressure.

Zip-locked

Fully opened just a fleshwound.

So there it is, about 3 days in constant morphine high, still a lot of pain some of the time. Slept my first 4 hours tonight excluding the sleep I got when in narcosis. Well fucked in the head at this time.

Holy shit dude

I hope you're going to get some good workers comp out of that. Intense. I hope that it heals up as quickly as possible too, mate. That can't be a lot of fun.

It's probably going to take over a year to fully restore. Crutches for at least 2 months depending on how die hard I am.

Fasciotomy

Not 100% sure from the pic, but it looks like a wound closure device used by some of our surgeons here...neat.

Crazy scary though. Speedy recovery and all that. Enjoy all those narcotics!

Posted by Redd on Jul-22-2015 14:43:

Hehe yeah I have two good friends that are ortopedians. They warned me about Compartment syndrome before my doctors did anything about it. After the op the pressure kept me awake all night, even with pretty heavy dosages of ketorax, oxynorm and oxycontin. I tried telling the nurse that administered the drugs about it but she seemed a bit daft. When the main doctor visited in the morning he immediately sent me to a fasciotomy. There is some nerve damage or at least still blockage on the big toe (directly translated from norwegian, no idea what it's called in english). I can push it down but not lift it up. There is sensitivity there though so I hope I can get it restored with training.

Oh yeah and I'm still riding high on 20mg oxycontin. It's pretty awesome to listen to some weird music and close your eyes. Trippy as hell.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-22-2015 14:51:

God, well you're lucky you still have all your toes!!

The strongest narcotic I've ever taken was Tylenol 3 (Acetaminophen [or paracetamol to you folks over there, I believe] with 30 mg of codeine in it). I'm always so curious about what the good stuff, like morphine, is like. Heh.

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jul-22-2015 15:26:

oh Morphine is the shit!

However the freakin nurse gave me too much and I had issues trying to pee afterwards.

perc's are good once you pop 3 and have a beer.

I've had many surgeries and injuries. I've been prescribed everything. I might even have a bottle of perc's left at my rents
