Argh, three people in a row quote my grammatical error. Ritual suicide it is.
I'm reading some poems by Lord Byron and at certain places besides the text there are numbers. I've seen this in several books and thought there were some kind of translation marks, but the book is in English so it hasn't been translated.
Anyone has any idea what it might be?

Originally posted by Chimney Sorry, you're wrong. I say this as a person who's worked, interviewed and currently does his dissertation in depression and personality disorder. I understand your view and why it would make sense to an uninformed person, however these pathologies enter the realm of disabilities to the point where said people cannot function at all anymore. And this is not only psychosis related, mostly neurosis. |

studying the brain is not studying the mind or consciousness itself. |
it just pisses me off when all these people reading books think they know something about real life.
empiricism = EXPERIENCE.
reading books =||= experience.

Originally posted by Silky Johnson I already said that in another thread. Troll is stupid, but people responding are even more stupid. Although it's mostly Looney4Clooney, so I'm not that surprised. |
I advise you to re-read what was previously posted:

Originally posted by Chimney No, and I really hope never to go through it. Regardless on what your opinion might be |

Originally posted by Chimney it's uninformed and uncultivated since you lack any contact with such patients |

Originally posted by Chimney I advise you to re-read what was previously posted: I haven't read a book on the subject, I was a part of their life and reality. |
Omg all the sane people in this thread please stop.

Originally posted by 0100306660SAS i dont have opinions of it. i have experience of it. empiricism. experience leads to knowledge. so until you personally go through something, you're the only one with opinions of it. i have had contact with patients, and studied how the doctors tried treatments. which basically was "prescribing newer pills" i just want to make a note that you should stop being one of those people who is reading books thinking you know something about real life. reality is much different than the theories which you read about it. |

then why were you saying you've already read the ebook on the topic and just wanted to buy the hardcopy for your "shelf" |

Originally posted by Chimney There are theories I read about and there are facts. As long as a treatment does what it's supposed to, its raison d'être is fufilled. Empirism is a nice way to go about it, but in the vast world of science it's unpractical. I can tell you there is nothing knowledgeable or socially rebellious to having a psychosis and killing a 6 month-old baby - like one of our patients. Second of all, it's obvious you try different treatments, especially when neuroleptics are syndrom-based. Add to this the multitude of adverse effects, resistance to specific active substances and you have the reason why "doctors prescribe the newest pills". |
Finally realized fucking 20 guys on a forum was enough? haha
What?

Originally posted by Chimney By the way, been meaning to ask: I remember you commented on several occasions on Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", but can't recall whether your had positive or negative things to say about it |
