It’s like when you and the lads have just landed in heathrow after a week getting wankered in magaluf. Someone probably got ‘chris’ tattooed on their arse cheek cos chris is an absolute fuckin ledge. You ride the bantmobile all the way back into town for a cheeky nandos before everyone goes home so their mums can wash their #ladsontour shirts you all had made specially. Fuckin top notch.

Going to be in Montreal for a few days. Getting in tomorrow night and leaving Saturday night. Haven't been to Canada since I was like two years old. Should be interesting.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-06-2015 13:04:

Montreal is an awesome city!! What are your plans, and what part of the city are you staying in?

Posted by Vector A on Oct-06-2015 13:09:

(Looks on Google Maps).

Smack in between the Parc du Mont-Royal and the St. Lawrence. Right off of 720.

I'm there for a conference for my job, so most of the time will be doing stuff related to that. But I asked to fly back a day later, so I will have all of Saturday to myself.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-06-2015 13:23:

Oh that's actually not too bad. If you can get to a Metro station easily then you're a short ride to downtown. And there's always Uber. Definitely check out Old Montreal! I went to Notre Dame basilica for the first time when I was there a couple weeks ago, what a sight!

Posted by Vector A on Oct-06-2015 13:29:

Yeah looks like I'm a couple blocks from two orange line stations. Definitely doing some exploring Saturday.

Posted by Vector A on Oct-06-2015 13:32:

Heck I could probably walk to Notre Dame basilica from where I am staying, it looks about a mile or so. Not sure how pedestrian-friendly that part of the city is.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-06-2015 13:37:

Yeah you could walk there for sure, based on your vague description of where you're staying lol.

edit: all the shopping and more touristy stuff is on and around Rue St. Catherine. Old Montreal (which is also touristy) is a couple short blocks south of that.

Posted by Dykes_on_Jay on Oct-06-2015 18:29:

Make sure to enjoy the crumbling infrastructure and Quebecois that make people from Alabama seem progressive.

Pro tip: Forget the "tourist" stuff, and just indulge in Quebec's most famous export. Loose women that take it in the A.

You're a pedestrian at your own risk in this city bud.

Taxis, buses and cyclists don't give a fuck. Actually it really is the cyclists to watch for because they don't obey the rules of the road or those of the people on the sidewalk

If you like Beer you should go to Le Saint-Bock:

http://saintbock.com/contact/

or "Dieu Du Ciel":

http://www.dieuduciel.com/en/contact.php

Dieu du ciel is on Laurier so you can also find a cool restaurant in those parts called "El Zaziummm":

http://elzazium.com/contact-us/?lang=en

Obviously for house music go to Stereo.

Other good eats are Joe Beef (sometimes hard to get in though because they are somewhat famous) and of course smoked meat joints!

Have a good time here and try to avoid hitting a pot-hole so big your insurance wont cover the damage to your car!

We went to Le Serpent for dinner while were in town, fuck it was incredible.

Damn, missing you by a few weeks or else I'd invite you for a beer. Have fun!

Yeah. My friend made the reso. She works for a consulting firm and they've had client dinners there, etc. Everything we ordered was fucking bomb. The foie gras holy shit.

Posted by Alex on Oct-07-2015 02:15:

"Bagels Etc" is also a cool place for breakfast after a night of boozing and general ridiculous behavior.

Best thing is, all these people talking about cheeky Nandos are probably the people depicted here. See that Tory MP in the first pic? Literally banter!

Had my pylonidal cyst surgery on Tusday. Friggin thing was huge, 2.3 inch and hid under the fibrous tissue of an older cyst that got operated few months back. Needless to say they had to sew me up and the surgeon fears eventual infection. So I'm in lots of pain, but at least my girlfriend does all the shopping for me.
